The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. He was something more important to the criminal ecosystem: an initial access broker. His job was to find the unlocked door into corporate networks and sell it. Not to one group. To whoever was buying. Including Yanluowang, a ransomware group that used his access to extort tens of millions of dollars from U.S. companies. He was arrested in Rome. Extradited. Pleaded guilty in November 2025. Sentenced yesterday. $9.1 million in restitution. All equipment forfeited. 81 months. Here's what most coverage will miss: The access broker is the supply chain. He's not the ransomware. He's the door-seller. Remove the door-seller and every group downstream loses a reliable source of entry points and has to find another one, at higher risk and higher cost.
