@Mogtaki @moniza_hossain Yea, I am very familiar with that. It doesn’t make the bread sweet, though.
English

@CountHaunted @moniza_hossain It's not sugary no but in general breads have some sugar in it to activate the yeast
English

I tried to stay out of this conversation (because it’s so stupid), but until you’ve actually tried a “cold bread onion and cheese” sandwich, you’re really in no position to comment on it. Soft, sweet bread, strong, creamy cheese, the sharp crispness of the onion. It’s good!
(not) NOT jackson@JacksonFromTwit
my entire feed is British people defending cold bread onion and cheese sandwiches. please tell me this is a bit. like we’re joking right ? right ?
English

@maddyburnhope @cactus2jack2 @bossbratbimbo I told her to name one restaurant that puts sugar in burgers. I think it’s safe to say she’s full of shit.

English

@maddyburnhope @cactus2jack2 @bossbratbimbo As someone who’s run restaurants for 20 years, no they don’t.
English

Why the fuck are people using wagyu for hamburger? That's just marketing fraud, right?

English

@botzarelli @RealSeanithan I have an entire shelf in my fridge door for mustards. Ran out of Colman’s and need to restock, but my wasabi mustard fills the gap decently well in a pinch. I typically prefer a spicy brown, though.
English

@CountHaunted @RealSeanithan Good! English mustard is worth trying if they want one which packs a punch.
English

When someone says, "Burgers need American cheese because of how well it melts and is prefect for burgers," I don't trust their opinion on anything food-related at all, much less burgers: if you're willing to defile your burger with that awful flavor just for the nice melting, you make it clear you don't actually care about your food or how it tastes.
English

@TheCartoonLoon I like how you went with retweet instead of reply. Anyway, so me a bar that serves bologna sandwiches. I think it’s you who missed the point of the discussion.
English

@TheCartoonLoon Thanks for the ai picture. If we have to eat a poverty sandwich, I’ll take processed bologna and yellow mustard over half a raw onion and an inch thick slab of cheddar I guess?
English

@botzarelli @RealSeanithan Americans don’t typically use yellow mustard for ham or steak sauce either 👍
English

@RealSeanithan Different mustards for different foods. US mustard is great for burgers and hot dogs but very weak to go with ham. But I’d use Dijon for a sauce to go with steak.
English

@wormhellscape @ParisPhl If you think that’s what I said then sure. I don’t argue with illiterate people.
English

@CountHaunted @ParisPhl Of course not. It no longer matters where they are from. They grow abundantly here thanks to globalisation over many hundreds of years. You think you have some inherent claim on them because you were born on some land that indigenous people cultivated for thousands of years?
English

England does not have high quality ingredients, you barely have fresh vegetables
FandomFighter🇬🇧/🇮🇪(Regnum Irae)@fandomfighter29
It tastes much fresher without that, british food relies on high quality ingredients rather than saturating items with a myriad of seasonings.
English

@lamorphise @wormhellscape @ParisPhl It’s not native. It’s French asparagus that was taken and moved. Just like how French asparagus isn’t native.
English

@CountHaunted @wormhellscape @ParisPhl We have Wild asparagus that is native to Britain. It's been recultivated
English

@sh4beeh_ @israelophobix Yes, that’s fine. Nobody is saying all sandwiches should be hot. I’m literally about to eat a cold sandwich on my lunch break at work. It sure as shit won’t be half an onion and a block of cheese consumed while also going for a walk for some reason?
English

@CountHaunted @israelophobix sometimes i just want a cold sandwich surely this is not a new phenomenon you have just heard of
English

Do american just like only eat inside or something? I'm making a sandwich to take on a walk with me, why would I want it cooked? It would just be cold again?
Mary Pezzulo@mary_pezzulo
Okay, now I'm REALLY sad. Do English people really not cook sandwiches?
English

@allmoshnopit You know he was wearing black gloves when he made that
English

When people go to the local pub they don’t want a gentrified 20 quid burger
Hope that helps
Chef Joe Gera 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🇮🇹@redhotnerd
So, I lived in the UK, and this is why I’ve spent so much time fixing this shit. This is what a cheese and onion sandwich should be (since I had my fair share of that crap)
English

@allmoshnopit Ignore the fraud with the ai sandwich. Focus on those terrible cheese and onion things.
English

@wormhellscape @ParisPhl Tomatoes, corn, and potatoes are from the americas. Rhubarb is from Asia, Asparagus from Greece. Do you think you’re the only ones to eat them?
English

@ParisPhl Isle of Wight for Tomatoes. Jersey potatoes. Yorkshire peas. anywhere for runner beans and potatoes. Sweet corn, Courgettes. Asparagus! The Rhubarb triangle. Blackberries growing for free on every hedgerow. We live like hobbits my guy.
English

@ElettraRafiuft @ParisPhl Most people who say stupid shit like this have a blue check mark and are engagement farming. You’re just an idiot for the love of the game. Astounding.
English

@ParisPhl Literally you can’t export most of your food in EU because it doesn’t match the minimum standards in terms of non-harmful ingredients and processing
English

@Agisuticaeagis @bossbratbimbo I don't add sugar either, because I don't make burgers; but I eat burgers when I'm out, and I've seen how they're made: "frequently with sugar", to reuse (albeit in a different order) the words I used previously
English

@Craig_J_85 It’s always the brits who couldn’t go to the games who complain the loudest.
English

@sh4beeh_ @israelophobix You have so many other options then
English

@CountHaunted @israelophobix ok but whag if i don’t want to. what if im not my lunch break and dont have time to pull out the toastie maker and start caramelising onions
