@prodnose space is like being in a room with no central heating on a very cold winter day but with a single bar heater in the corner. Mostly it's cold, but if you stand too close to the radiator you can still get burned.

@prodnose in the near vacuum of space heat is transmitted by radiation. So unless you are close to a source of heat radiation like the Sun it's very cold. Your temperature can vary widely with your position.

@prospecttory @UKDemockery @skwawkbox Out here in the real world of long hours, low incomes and high living costs, people are being squeezed to death by monopolies in energy, transport, utilities etc. All the Tories offer is we can borrow more money & get deeper in debt.

@prospecttory @UKDemockery @skwawkbox Incidentally Corbyn's manifesto policy on such issues, eg the concentrated energy market is to set up a state owned energy company to compete with the private oligopoly.

@prospecttory @UKDemockery @skwawkbox As far as nationalisation goes, many key sectors are naturally monopolistic, and are weakly regulated. It is competition not private ownership itself which breeds efficiency. In its absence more accountability is neededwhich might be provided by state ownership.

@prospecttory @UKDemockery @skwawkbox More regulation would have prevented 2008 happening for a start. More taxes can be used to target investment strategically into infrastructure to promote productivity growth unlike QE which has led to non-productive growth.

@prospecttory @UKDemockery @skwawkbox State directed investment into infrastructure & other avenues that increase productivity boost growth, raise more tax revenues & more than pays for itself. Austerity halts productivity growth, halts growth, harms revenue generation & sinks the economy.

@Grime4CorbynUK But it comes from the brain too. Capitalism not only makes promises it can't keep, but promises it has absolutely no intention of keeping.

taxpayersalliance.com/there_is_no_ne… Check out our new analysis of teachers' pay. The average teacher earns over £38,000 a year, much more than the UK average. It's not fair for them to receive bigger pay increases than those taxpayers who will be footing the bill for their salaries.

A teacher told me that his teaching of fiction(s) had changed because of what I had once said about asking pupils 'how they are affected' by a scene, a story, a moment before getting on to the stuff about what it means.

Why start with a 'topic'? That's very hard. You could start with a story and write a prequel, or a sequel, or a change the time-frame and/or setting, and/or sex of the protagonist and/or turn humans to animals/aliens or vice versa/or write the story from another p.o.v. twitter.com/gayle38/status…

Saw a post on Facebook where people were talking about pets they’d like to own and, after seeing this comment, I need to go and have a lie down in a dark room for a while.
