Florida had a similar roster before they came out of nowhere and won the championship 2 years ago, idk why we’re acting like this isn’t a good team, it’s the prototypical Mark Pope squad and it’s not even finalized yet.

Can’t wait for Mark Pope and company to bring a bunch of overseas guys in and beat everyone’s ass next season. He’s building a roster that plays his system. I’m choosing to trust the process. And Tennessee fans can STFU they are 1-4 against Pope. Arky took that L too.

@BRamseyKSR So in his 37 Euroleague games he averaged 6.9 points and 1.6 rebounds. I’m pretty sure I understand basketball as this is not worth flying across the world for.

I've been PLENTY negative about Kentucky's recruiting situation over the last 12+ hours. However, I'm not going to pile on about Coach Pope's current trip to Israel. Making fun of Márcio Santos' stats simply shows you don't understand international basketball. Yes, he averages 8.4 points & 4.1 rebounds per game. However, he was a solid rotation player (what he would be asked to be at Kentucky) in the EuroLeague which is the highest level of basketball competition in the world outside of the NBA/Olympics. You now who averages 9.1 & 5.4 for Maccabi Tel Aviv? TJ Leaf...who averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a freshman at UCLA and was the #18 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

recruiting isn't his sepciality, it's coaching and making in game adjustents when things are looking bleak - see Gonzaga/Indiana/LSU/Tennessee games the last 2 years + many more that I can't think of off the top of my head. let the roster finalize and watch Pope cook.

to the "Mark Pope can't coach" crowd. - 8 top 15 wins in year 1 (most ever at UK) - wins over Scheyer, Few, Kelsey, Golden, Barnes (x4), Byington (2x), Underwood, Pitino, Miller, & Calipari. - 3 SECT wins and 3 NCAAT wins with injuries to Robinson, Kriisa, Quaintance, & Lowe.

Jacob Polacheck is one of the best talents to come through this industry in a long time and is an unbiased journalist through and through. Not for a second have I ever questioned his integrity or commitment to bringing anything other than facts to the table -- good, bad or ugly. He's excellent at what he does and the Kentucky beat is better with him on it. Period.

I truly get the frustration with the recruiting efforts, the PR, and last season. I truly believe that everyone understands that Mark Pope has to succeed next year, but most fans are completely writing next season off, and that’s extremely premature.

A lot of things can be true at once so I'm not saying everything is fine but I do think a lot of people are underselling the quality on the roster that Kentucky does have lined up. Diallo, Wilkins, Ndiaye, Kam, Moreno, McBride is not a bad first six.
