Seeing a penalty given for obstruction certainly is a new one but hey all you can do is mark them down on MOAS and they come back again. 🤦🏼♂️

@FMullered @refsupportuk The lines being wider than the post doesn't help. Granted would need to get the fine liner out to paint them so they're laws of the game compliant ie same width as the goal posts.

David carried the ball out of the 18-yard box and still had it in his hands. VAR didn’t even catch it 😭 Arsenal are really getting away with everything this season.

No caution was given either which makes it more confusing.

Penalty should be 'taken' again.
If he had stopped then taken it then it would be caution and IDFK.

It is completely different. The only offense what is by a defender. You can play advantage, and give the yellow card for DOGSO instead of the red because you played advantage.

Haaland - Szobozlai like situation happened in Serie A... Instead of giving RED CARD, the Ref played advantage, the goal stood & the defender only got a Yellow card...VAR should learn from this 😡🤬

@grassrootsrefJa @liverpaul66 @WhistleBlowerDK It's already been trialled and worked well. Unlikely to be used in the big leagues, we may see it in the football league at some stage

@liverpaul66 @WhistleBlowerDK Cricket is easier as it is more factual, football isn't. You can name a lot of incidents where a player/manager thinks the decision is wrong but it isn't and that still doesn't stop them complaining or saying it's wrong. I fear challenges would only increase victim mentality

I think VAR needs to do something like cricket. 2 or 3 appeals for each side. Only player fouled or the fouler, and the captain can ask ref to review. Win review, keep appeal.

The big thing with the Lucas Digne handball is that at no point was he outside the box.
Not before Kieran Trippier played the cross, or when it hit his arm, or after as he simply continued walking in the box.
Astonishing decision for that to be a free-kick and not a penalty.

@TonyIncenzo A small dusting of snow at St. James' Park yesterday. The last time I saw the orange ball was against Man United in Feb 85 a 1-1 draw.

Hundreds of matches are called off nowadays due to snow and ice. Back in the 70's, they'd get the orange footballs out & get on with it! And fans would arrive early to sweep the terraces. Great community spirit !!
