Anyone who is the main carer for someone with #MND or any other serious neurological illness can get vaccinated as a priority (after more clinically vulnerable people: may not be immediate). You need to make sure you are registered with your GP as a carer @SYMNDA @SandraSmithmnd

@MrsArcticride 1/3: Hi Kirsty, JCVI guidance states that unpaid carers in priority group 6 for the COVID-19 vaccine includes "those who are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill".

Two days off now to celebrate my 40th b’day. Not quite as planned with the current lockdown but reflecting on a very satisfying week where we discharged our 50th patient from critical care. Helping patients to walk, talk and start their recovery makes it all worthwhile #COVID19

Perhaps after this nightmare is over, his government could show its appreciation by not, once again, voting against any possible pay rises for our @NHSuk heroes. Just a thought.

Yesterday London’s ICU capacity was 86%. Of its pre-covid critical care capacity this would = 135% The responsiveness, preparedness, flexibility and collaborative working by the NHS has been phenomenal. Once again with very little we have stepped up to serve patients best we can

1/3 My learning to date from treating COVID patients: 1.Secretion load fluctuates dramatically in intubated patients. 2.Patients can deteriorate quickly 3.Pre-oxygenation before airway clearance is wise 4.PPE donning and doffing becomes second nature quickly.

If you think that journalists should make way for frontline #NHS specialists (eg Intensive Care, Infectious Diseases, Respiratory Medicine, Nursing, & Public Health) to ask the questions at the Government’s daily #COVID19 briefing, then please RT
