@MarcusMilione Contracted power to energize the compute still the bottleneck most tethered to reality. Picks and shovels innit?

As it stands currently, cloud giants (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta) are spending loads of cash to build AI data centers
this cash mostly goes to chip companies (NVDIA etc)
chip companies look rich... cloud giants look like they're bleeding cash
obviously nobody knows exactly what will happen but my guess would be
chips look this profitable only because there aren't enough to go around and companies like NVDIA can charge inflated prices because of this. entire industry is racing to make more, more factories, more packaging, more memory
as supply catches up, price comes down, profits... normalize
as cloud giants finish their big buildouts they stop outlaying huge sums of cash for chips and their cash bounces back. on paper though, their profits stay pretty ugly because of the depreciation. better off watching their cashflow than watching their reported earnings
if AI demand continues to grow fast enough, the chip shortage could last much longer and then the chip companies stay rich a lot longer

FIFA is corrupt. Always has been.
Corrupt orgs just want to make money.
America has all the ad money FIFA wants.
FIFA *needs* America to be way more into the sport to fuel increased ad rev in 2030+
Overturning Balogun suspension was a business decision and the right one to make to serve FIFA’s own interest. Has nothing to do with Trump. That’s just the theater we do over here.
All europoors complaining about the injustice, welcome to the Americanization of your beloved sport.
If you just let it be what it is and reduce the argument to first principals, you will sooner enjoy the new version of your thing.
Signed,
Americans who love soccer that learned from the last 20 years of SEC football.

@pinpulleddrmf I was totally dry for the first 6mo after Ambio and have only had a few beers in the 16mo since my time there. Many such cases.

Wetwrx summer combat hoodie
I was highly skeptical of this piece of gear. I thought it might be fragile, I thought it would be too hot, I thought it would be too bulky. Im very glad I tried it, because I was quite wrong.
What does it do? It provides the durability, protection, and camouflage of a field or BDU top, while being cooler and more breathable than a combat style top.
And when I say “cooler and more breathable” I mean it makes you feel like you are in the shade, and lets 100% of the breeze through to cool your body. Pair it with a merino wool t shirt and you’re golden.
I’ve been wearing this thing every single range trip, walk through the woods, ruck, and every single day of a 6 day DARC course. Its never had a single issue, or sign of wear/tear.
All of the upsides of a BDU top, all of the upsides of the combat top. But it also keeps the sun and bugs off of you.
Downsides:
-it can be a little abrasive on your elbows if you are prone
-idk that’s all I can think of
I have 0 financial affiliation with Wetwrx, I paid full price for my hoodie. I had lunch with the owners at Shotshow, and they are an awesome hardworking couple from Texas doing this out of their garage.

@HavocTwoOne @_JesseCinco Happy to share stuff I’ve picked up along the way with good people.
We didn’t even get into treatments like polygiene for odor mitigation or which synthetics are better for heavy/greasy sweat types. The rabbit hole is very deep in the apparel game.
English

@_JesseCinco @CraigFrancis_ I just learned so much in this thread lol
But to answer your first question, the only hang up might be the length, and if it interferes with your pouches/holster setup.
It has a shock cord waist, so you can cinch it up, but I can see it being a potential snag.

@5280KN @_JesseCinco Wool or a lwt merino wool will not dry or move moisture as well as a synthetic baselayer. Different tool for a different job.
English

@CraigFrancis_ @_JesseCinco That a great idea. Does white light weight wool over the sunshirts works as well? I think smartwool makes sunhoodies

@rfkenmore Hunter Green or a rich Maroon/Burgundy body with brass hardware and cream embroidery fits the pipeline aesthetic

A lot of nuance to textile choice that can help. You will get much better wicking and quick dry from a micro-grid fabrication than you will a smooth textile.
Using KUIU for example, which I see you wear often: the Vital S1 base I recommend has that standoff that will move sweat better. See here:
Juxtapose that with a slick textile like used in the Gila LS Hoodie seen here:
That little grid makes all the difference when next to skin. Somewhat ironically, those two paired together as I described will keep you cooler and dry more quickly than just wearing the Gila hoodie alone.

Hey bro - I work in the hunt space and have had some career stops where we made apparel options for your former employer. I’d recommend a good long sleeve synthetic baselayer to wick the sweat off your skin and then a lwt sun hoodie on top of that. Your poly blend Sun hoodies worn against the skin as a single layer are not designed to move moisture thru the textile like that FL muggy heat requires.
I know it seems counterintuitive to wear two layers, but you’ll be cooler in a system like that than with a single poly sun hoodie that is 100% wetted out and slicked to your skin.
SITKA Core lwt base top or a KUIU Vital S1 + whatever lwt hoodie you like that meets your durability criteria. Tighter fit on the base and looser fit on the hoodie is preferable for airflow.
Note: this is only if you are slick on top, no carrier/chest rig/pack. If you compress the layers you won’t get the airflow this system shines with. In that case, single lwt synthetic base only and you’re just going to be wet, because Florida.

@HavocTwoOne Would it be better than a sunshirt for a match? I have yet to find a top to wear down here in FL that doesn’t become soaked in 30 minutes
