Personally, I am reasonably optimistic, barring any major breakdowns (such as that experienced when 3 x 800 MW units were out of service for about a year at Kusile), and noting the 2 x 800 MW units (Medupi Unit 4 and Kusile Unit 5) expected to deliver commercial power to grid in Q3 this year, that SA will experience continued reduced frequency and intensity of loadshedding for the rest of 2024, even if unplanned breakdowns remain steady at current levels.
