But making it real requires more than good intentions it requires infrastructure. We purchased an @nvidia 𝐃𝐆𝐗 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤. This hardware allows us to fine-tune health AI models locally, on sovereign infrastructure. No patient data exported. No dependency on distant data centers. The models that will support clinical decision-making for Health Workers will be trained where they'll be deployed. Over the past month, our team ran a closed beta usability sprint with frontline health workers, Clinical Officers, Nurses, and Medical Officers working in real clinics across Uganda. The goal: validate whether an offline clinical decision support tool could actually help. 📕𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝: → They understood immediately — this is guidance, not diagnosis → Symptom entry was intuitive, even under time pressure → Offline-first isn't a nice-to-have — it's a requirement → Having the Uganda Clinical Guidelines accessible in seconds? That got a thumbs up. "𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴𝘦... 𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘫𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴." — Facility Health Worker, Closed Beta Participant This sprint was designed using clinical research best practices from the @StanfordMed (Center for Health Education), and conducted with guidance from leading Health Care Institutions(and experts) in Uganda We're not building a diagnostic tool. We're building decision support — grounded in Uganda's own clinical guidelines, running entirely offline, and designed for the reality of frontline healthcare. Our team was already committed to delivering a Case Spotlight and Deep-Dive session at 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐇𝐮𝐛 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 on February 9–10. Visa processing timelines for Ugandan passport holders made a back-to-back appearance in Cairo by February 11 impossible. 🚀Two major stages. One week. A team of 10. We honoured the commitment we made first. We are now actively planning to exhibit across the GITEX GLOBAL Largest Tech & Startup Show in the World and Ai Everything Abu Dhabi portfolio in 2026 — 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐜𝐡, 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢 — to ensure we don't have to choose between opportunities like this again.💪🏾 🙏🏿We didn't make it to Cairo this time. But Cairo showed us something important: the global demand for sovereign, offline-first AI infrastructure — built by and for the communities the industry keeps designing around — is no longer a thesis. Questions about Buganda history, Luganda proverbs, local agricultural practices. The real-world knowledge that determines whether AI actually works for the communities we're building for. We shipped this as part of Kaggle's founding cohort before last week's public launch.
