So just to summarize, the official US foreign policy posture toward Europe is: 1. Overall, it is an intention of this admin to punish you, because you’ve relied on us for security for too long 2. But you should not build your own AI stack, and should instead rent models from us 3. But we will export control our models actually, and you will not be able to rent models from us

now seems like a good day to remind people we have an apache 2.0 coding model you can run with 20 gigs of ram locally for free forever. huggingface.co/CohereLabs/Nor… Its a 4 bit quant that gets >99% original performance.

Excited to see @cohere open-source how they use AI coding agents to maintain their vLLM fork. 🙌 Keeping a long-lived fork in sync is tricky. Their agent treats it as a control loop: rebase onto each upstream release, run tests, diagnose, fix, repeat until green. Weeks of work down to days. Bonus: the skills are open source (cohere-ai/vllm-skills) and the agent's fix went back upstream for everyone. 🔧 Worth a read 👇 cohere.com/blog/automatin…

@cohere For the benchmark-curious out there: @huggingface 's FFASR benchmark is all about testing speech capture in variable, real-world acoustic conditions where the mic is far from the speaker...like a Subway. @cohere Transcribe topped the leaderboard earlier this month.

As AI becomes integrated into every industry, without a sovereign solution, you run the risk of your infrastructure shutting down at a moment's notice. Cohere CEO @aidangomez live at @FII_Institute1:

Prior to release, we shared a version of @cohere North Mini Code with AI engineers and answered some questions. Here's a quick illustrated walkthrough of the model's architecture and training process. Small models fill an important niche. They: 1. run on more widely available hardware 2. handle tasks within a certain range of complexity 3. take on sub-tasks that larger models delegate
