@Meelsie143 Is there a single character that didn't get a design downgrade in the sequel? Feel like the OG designs had so much more personality.

@Myrien_ @retneysholocron Because bleeding is a process you commit to of your own will and he just didn't choose to yet... Unless you're in the Acolyte where it can happen accidentally, but that's an issue with the show and not any other depiction of bleeding.

@retneysholocron Crystal bleeding doesn't make a lot of sense in a series where Annakin can fall to the dark side, have sith eyes, mass murder jedi (and children) at the temple, and STILL have his blue lightsaber for his duel with Obiwan.

George Lucas when he suggested Kyber bleeding and a staff writer told him the 90’s novels established that red crystals were synthetic

@GunnerDobbins The lightsaber bleeding idea came from George Lucas when developing Clone Wars back in 2010. It just never appeared in any media until after he sold to Disney.

@alexbrault @Blackheart_Opus @retneysholocron The Sith having the inferior version feels like it goes against the whole theme of the dark side being stronger and better at the cost of... Yourself. I think bleeding fits the signature Sith lust for power more, personally.

@Blackheart_Opus @retneysholocron I like both existing. Kyber bleeding is cooler for individuals, I agree, but the Sith academy taking shortcuts and ending up with inferior artificial crystals makes sense for the needs of that story

@edwinhammeren @Theodore1tiger @memeslich -Or vice versa, if you related to Link as a girl, it was with more of a masculine aspect. I really wanted the designer to encompass more of a gender-neutral figure. So I’ve always thought that for either female or male players, I wanted them to be able to relate to Link."

@edwinhammeren @Theodore1tiger @memeslich Aonuma has also explicitly said that Link's androgyny is key to his character: "Back during the Ocarina of Time days, I wanted Link to be gender neutral. I wanted the player to think ‘Maybe Link is a boy or a girl.’ If you saw Link as a guy, he’d have more of a feminine touch-

Do you prefer a masculine hero or one that is more androgynous?

@Theodore1tiger @memeslich The amount of characters in BotW who immediately disregard you as a nobody or outright deny evidence that you're the hero is a major point of what his androgynous design is supposed to convey, that you don't need to be seen as traditionally masculine to be truly strong.

@Theodore1tiger @memeslich Having to prove he's a man is actually a major plot beat of his character in Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, where he is constantly belittled and disregarded either for being too young in OoT or too scrawny and small in BotW.

@GagarinGorilla @SeptonFratelli The bugs in Starship only ever attacked in self defense when humanity struck first, they could not have launched an asteroid through that much space accurately enough to hit Earth, they were simply blamed for what was either coincidence or caused by humans to boost military funds

@SeptonFratelli The humans are the good guys in Starship despite what edgelords tell you. Rorschach is the only one with the principle to tell the truth. That's why Manhattan kills him. Yeah and this Paul sucks ass. Judges is killing serial killers and drug paddlers. He's the hero. 🤡

@CharismaMyDude @empyrealviolet The Godskins are introduced as nameless nobles/apostles of a group, I don't think anything implied they were particularly unique?

@empyrealviolet I definitely don’t think every example of this is bad but the ones where the boss is very unique or has a lot of personality to them and there’s just a straight up clone is what irks me the most. See Astel, Godskins, Fallingstar Beast, Leonine partially, & Godefroy to name a few.

Boss reuse is fine to me because bosses are just big enemies and every game reuses enemies. This doesn't mean every individual instance of reuse is undeserving of criticism but some people treat the imaginary prestige of a boss health bar as a bigger deal than it actually is.

@THENEWOmegan This debate can be avoided by simply never reusing this lazy copy and paste character and coming up with more interesting villains.

Hot take, but I don’t think they should change Eggman Negas name. “But it sounds like the n-word” I’m not gonna it can’t but most of the people who bring up are just immature white people trying to be “funny.” You should be mature enough to understand the difference.

@taskmasterfan You mean the person whose entire dream was to join the Imperial piloting academy and had practiced in his free time in preparation? Oh, and Obi Wan was quite clearly implied to be offering actual force guidance beyond just his words in that scene, Luke didn't hit it solo.

@LullabyLorelai Nintendo also seems to have panicked when they realised the implications of a women only society and then also made them all leave to go off and marry a Hylian husband to have babies with and even portray a class on it in Gerudo town so nobody thinks they're lesbian.

@LullabyLorelai My only issue with Nintendo is the Gerudo in BotW. Dressing in feminine clothing to infiltrate a women's only space and disrespect their most core cultural rule is... Certainly a plotline.

@matpolloy I know this is basically just Sithspawn but I do like Merrin's "Sithspit" in Jedi Survivor, it's a kinda catchy exclamation of annoyance/anger.

The only in-universe curse word that doesn’t make me roll my eyes is “Sithspawn” bc it still feels like an actual word people would use. It’s even funnier when the OT uses “Hell” twice! “Or there will be hell to pay” “I’ll see you in Hell!”
Evil Archie@arch51002

I honestly think "Dank Farrick" is the cringiest thing in Star Wars to me because the way it's said it's clearly supposed to be a replacement for "God damn it" which are words that already exist in the Star Wars universe so wtf is the point 😭
