I remember when my little girl was about 7 years old we took her to a new dentist & they told us we weren’t allowed back in the room with her. I asked them why in the world wouldn’t I be allowed to come back with my small child? They said they just didn’t have much room in the exam rooms so I offered to just stand right at the doorway which they said no to. I said to cancel the appointment then & they shamed me loudly in the waiting room saying how this was *highly unusual* for someone to refuse the appointment. I didn’t care. How any parent would allow this risk with a small child is beyond me. I just knew it wasn’t happening with MY child.

Dangers in my heart had a long stretch of post relationship content. Salute. We've also had more "get together at the beginning" like "polar opposites"

Interestingly enough, I also find most generic romcom protagonists boring.
My issues were often that romcom protagonists never really seem to grow. They don't become more mature, better versions of themselves. They're very stagnant.
This means you wind up getting the same joke used over and over again because the characters aren't moving forward.
Another big issue with characters who don't change is that the romance never moves forward. You don't actually have the MC get into a relationship until the very end--and then it's over. There's no emotional payoff.
I've complained about it, but I also realized that if I want something different, I just have to make it myself. That's why I began writing my own stories.
Every protagonist is not only unique but undergoes great emotional growth. The romance also has good payoff early. Rather than stories about "will they or won't they get together," it's stories about the challenges they face while part of a relationship.
Of course, I'm a harem fan, so I write stories where one guy ends up dating or marrying multiple women.

@TheChanMaki The problem with s1 isn't even Spe. It's failing to properly tell the story of the golden gen. Especially with Sky and Halo. Imagine getting that cathartic King halo win or the drama with sky's injuries. It didn't prioritize drama for side characters outside Suzuka.

Nobody is asking people to translate "私は猫が大好きです" into "I regarding cat really like".
We're asking translators not to change the original meaning of the source content.
We're asking translators not to add "skibidi rizz toilet" or to change "Male pride is such a pain" into "Fragile masculinity at it again."
We're asking translators to keep the content as authentic to the original intent as possible. You can clean up direct literal translations to be more palatable to the English tongue without changing the meaning of what's being written or spoken.
I really don't understand what's so hard about this.

My gripe is with people who don't put any effort complain about luck and meta in competitive settings and/or insult players for tryharding.

I could tell you about this from my time playing competitive MTG: Casuals are the toxic ones. Meta players are accused of "only having fun when they win" when it's always the casuals who complain about losing. They are fine with losing and learning. Casuals blame luck and meta.
