@theficouple Boomers aren’t moving. Why should they? The rest of us all refinanced at the start of the pandemic. 85% of homeowners have under 3%.

Baby boomers aren't selling their homes & why would they? They paid $90,000 for a home 25+ years ago, owe $0 & have $550k+ of equity. "Downsizing" means they'd need to buy something for $450k + take on a 6% loan. Many won't move & this will keep inventory low.

📰📰 I'm very excited to say that next month I'll be starting at @BostonGlobe as a political reporter covering state and local politics. I'm looking forward to continuing to cover the crazy world of Massachusetts politics, including Beacon Hill and the 2026 elections. #mapoli

@megansarahj Last night there was a shooting on federal hill. Guy went into a restaurant looking for a specific person. Oh this didn’t happen when Raymond was around. ?? 🤔

@TheStonesEG Providence is safe. My parents are there and I spend an exorbitant amount of time there. I suspect more than someone people who live full time in R.I. The weekend of the wine expo I went to Providence Place Mall. Downtown, the east side and got haven brothers at 1am.

There are certain Rhode Island people in positions of power breathing a sigh of relief with this announcement. Just remember…the devil you know. 😈 Luckily, the RI food club readers keep the Food Club Queen - gluten free and all. ❤️

So some personal news… In May, I’ll be leaving @Globe_RI to join the @BostonGlobe's business desk in Boston to cover retail, the consumer economy, and restaurants. After more than five years in Rhode Island, it’s bittersweet, but I’m excited for my next challenge. 1/6🧵

Clothing designers these days have no idea what to do with short women who dare to have curves. Clothes shopping is so stressful when there’s NOTHING for your body type.

When my dad was dying and in the hospital for a brain tumor the nurses were bringing him orange Fanta non stop. I had to intervene and asked if they thought water might be better instead since he was having surgery for BRAIN CANCER the next morning. They said, “Your daughter has a great idea Mr. Clark!” Why in the world did I even have to say that? He’s dead now by way.

RFK Jr. just shared that hospitals were giving diabetics foods like Jell-O and Coca-Cola that worsen their condition. “A diabetic woman… was immediately offered… a Jell-O and a Coca-Cola.” “And a number of other foods that all contain sugar that are all gonna injure their metabolic system and aggravate their diabetes.” “We have the best doctors… and the finest hospitals in the world.” “But… they haven’t recognized the most important tool of medicine today is good food.”

Just had brunch near the beach in Leucadia CA. (North San Diego) Lots of pregnant young women and families w babies and small children. It was beautiful. All is not lost! Many of my friends daughters in their mid 30’s are staying home with their babies. People ARE realizing FAMILY is important. The childless people don’t know the joy they’re missing. And yes they seem to hate kids.

Today I went to a chic coffee shop with my 3 children (I'm a latte addict personally). I walked in - and not even one person had a child and everyone was staring at us. I could sense the annoyance around us when my baby starting whimpering to come out of his stroller and my 4 year old was laughing just a little too loud. It wasn't imagined either - I could feel the negative energy around me. I'm noticing a lot of spaces are becoming very anti-child. It's not just restaurants at dinner any longer. It's everywhere - grocery stores, libraries, swimming pools, etc. because so many people don't have kids and don't want them (*ancestor cry*). It's like the presence of a baby or child is very off-putting for the childless - simply out of their own contempt. A society that hates children is a society with no future at all. It's a dead zone with soulless people only existing.

It's been this way for years. I took my 4 to a pizza place like 7 years ago and we were laughing and telling stupid jokes and just generally having a fun time...at a PIZZA place....and some crotchety old guy eating alone kept making loud/rude comments and being just a complete ass to us. Normally boomers are the ones who love seeing us all out together, not on screens and having fun, but this guy was an ass. It wasn't the last time this kind of thing happened either.

@JillCo So no one spoke to you. No one spoke to your children. Yet, you feel all these people didn’t like children? You felt they were annoyed?
