@T3Jab @FFBTheGoat69 AJ Brown and Drake London are more valuable. The counter example is how you didn't include Cook on this list despite him leading the league in rushing yards. Saquon had a down year despite everyone knowing just how elite he is. This disparity happens far more with RBs

@FFBTheGoat69 Think of her argument literally not what you think the argument is a cousin of. Think of all the A+ RBs in football. There are maybe 5-7. Taylor, Saqoun, CMC, Henry, Achane, Bijan, Gibbs. Which of these players has a WR that’s more valuable to their offense than them?

@minakimes I agree RB value is lower but this is partially because they tend to have shorter careers. Pay can be used but it is pretty important to not use it as the "settling of the debate." Draft capital spent is a better representation of the difference

@theblockspot How is Trevor not generational? Best prospect at least since Andrew Luck who retired before he even got into the league. Wemby is arguably the greatest since Bron and maybe even greater

They called Zion generational. They called Flagg generational. They called Caleb generational. They called Trevor generational. They called Wiggins generational. They called Ben Simmons generational. Wemby is legitimately generational.

@Saints504_ NFC south is the most even (every team hates every team), AFC North is the most on the field, and NFC East is the most historic/off the field

@Meegs214 The truth is draft class quality is almost impossible to predict ahead of time. Mendoza was a sleeper just a year ago and so was Cam ward the year before he declared. The question is if the pendulum swings back to some of these guys succeeding

The year is 2030. Jalen Green is still shooting 35% from the field, chucking up shots while being a negative in every other aspect of the game. Yet somebody out there still has hope. They are likely just attracted to him — but there are worse things than to be blinded by love.

@m_booker1 The issue is that it's impossible to know if their success comes from sitting or because they were just good from the start. My guess is that players who have planned sits get more time to work on their flaws rather than further enforce them through playing

@richard_normal Honestly what I think is more important is simply shortening rebuilds. NBA tanking sucks because it can last half a decade and sometimes more. Requiring another year after high school brings more league ready players and actually allows rookies to contribute like in the NFL

also the reason we have tanking (to the extent that it does exist) in the nba but not other sports is because in no other major american sport can one player change your life in the same way that one truly great basketball player can
richard@richard_normal

the thing that gets me the most with nba tank discourse is when people assert that fixes are easy. "oh just give everyone in the lottery equal odds, just give the number one pick to the best team to not make the playoffs, oh just do the wheel". these all have terrible downsides!

@Justus_Dobe @BillsHateMe As a bills and Josh Allen hater, it's absolutely ridiculous to act like any of that winning is Maye's doing. Worst playoff run in NFL history and got bailed out by a great defense. Give Allen that defense and he'll blow past the AFC

@DavidAFrench The truth behind tanking is that basketball is a sport where it is near impossible to overcome talent deficits. I think the best solution is requiring an extra year of college and a hard salary cap which allows for more balanced drafts focusing on talent over pure potential

I’m going to fix the NBA’s tanking problem right now: Draft order is the reverse order of non-playoff teams. Best team to miss the play-in gets first pick, then the order is determined from there. (Second-best team to miss play-in gets second pick, and so on). All the worst teams will have huge incentives to play hard. Problem solved. You’re welcome :)

@elitetakes_ A good snow game is far better than a good non snow game but I feel like people have to be lying to me to say that game was good in any form once it started snowing

Have to say, a game like that makes me less mad about the dome movement A regular season snow game is cool. But I don’t want to see a conference championship boiled down to a bunch of elementary school level plays. That was horrific hoops, let’s be real

@Kyochi_Myogo @GardenNomi_ @PeterTwinklage Unemployment rates especially among young people have risen sharply and employers surveys show they are less willing to hire entry level workers. Job reports have been absolute dog shit outside of the healthcare industry. It's genuinely ridiculous to think we're in a bull market

@nickmendias @HeisenBurghh Because sacks aren’t the only thing that matters. Especially when one player is asked to do more in his defense than the other. Casual sack count glazers are the worst.

@elitetakes_ It's also just incredibly unlucky in terms of him losing his top 10 running back and multiple good receivers. Good QBs still elevate their roster but it's clear the good QB play is still in there somewhere

TL asleep? I’m not out on CJ Stroud The Texans shouldn’t pay him, and if today killed his career in Houston I’d understand This O-line has broken his confidence & rhythm in the pocket. But there’s a special pocket passer in there that I believe can re-emerge elsewhere. Prime fresh start candidate

Lamar thru for 4 thousand yards/41 touchdowns and 4 interceptions when his offense was 31st in the NFL in passing attempts btw.
CHAD POWERS@BBONYGPodcast

@Chughes612 John turned the Ravens into a heavy run offense when Lamar got there. It led to Lamar play action passing downfield. Lamar is not a great pocket passer, now his body is wearing down so he will be finished, not worth paying him
