Appears that U.S. forces also destroyed at least one MH-6 Little Bird helicopter left behind at the forward base in Iran.

Remains of the USAF M/HC-130 Hercules transport aircraft destroyed by US forces before departing their forward base in Iran, used successfully to recover the downed F-15 aircrew. The aircraft had reportedly become stuck in the soft ground and were blown up to avoid capture.

Yes, I would agree with FARP. But calling it Forward Base as some called it, is not the right term to use.
My credible theory: US military was there on ground. Reason could be to get the Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU) and destroy those tunnels afterwards. Hence, generals sent C130 and copters. F16E was providing air-support when it was hit by Iranians. Hence, the US mission to extract HEU and surgical strike, now got sadly converted into a SAR mission.
Overall, the big plan failed. Iran won this iteration! The orange-head became furious and now he is openly threatening war crimes by planning to destroy bridges and power-plants, as if he was not happy with bombing girl-school.

@CrossroadMic @Osinttechnical It was a FARP - Forward Arming and Refueling Point. A temporary point at a reasonablly secure location to refuel helicopters and extend their time on location. Why two C-130s? My guess is backup in case one went down. Also one carries soldiers for local security.

The United States going to any extent to rescue their soldier must be appreciated.
‘No man is left behind’ was followed.
But the manner in which they were able to do this is questioned.
They were making a temporary base by trying to land in a deserted area (underestimating Iranians), but got caught and were shot. Iranians destroyed US plans and their equipments. Iranians almost caught their man, but US was able to rescue that soldier at the end.
That’s the story!

Christians in the administration should be pursuing peace. Urging the President to make peace. Not escalating war that is hurting people. Anyone with a modicum understanding of physics knows this is a crash. Look at the angular bend on the propellers.
This aircraft was shot down. The proximity of the helicopter parts indicate that it was shot down as a unit.
This was a mass casualty event for AFSOC. Disaster.
