This is a great example of how we tend to misunderstand "religion" as some "additional" program which was formerly placed atop our lives and which is now absent, leaving us with "secular" culture.

I’m not religious, but wouldn’t the joke make more sense if you said Christianity? Specifying Catholicism implies they’re the only sect that uses the cross symbol. I’ve noticed that if people my age joke about Christianity, they often say Catholicism specifically for some reason.

I find it amusing that the giant anteater is known as "oso hormiguero" (ant bear) in Spanish, when perhaps it should be called "hormiguero oso" (bear anteater), cause, just look at it! Arctotherium mimic? :B
