Mrs is trying to get me to drop £4k on a mattress and that doesn’t even include the topper, which is another £1.6k. £5.6k all in including delivery. Who’s actually got an expensive mattress, and is it worth the investment? Surely I can’t spend more than £500 on a mattress. Not even flexing buying a £5k mattress just seems silly to me. Curious to see if others think differently and can convince me, because at the moment it’s a strong NO.

The Matrix 5 is reportedly being worked on. Can we agree that these 2 actors are important to bring back? I don’t care if Laurence Fishburne’s version of Morpheus was supposedly killed off in a video game. I’d suggest ignore that bit.. or It’s sci-fi.. it doesn’t seem that hard to figure it out. They just need to be in the fifth movie if it happens? But more important.. can a 5th movie even work after the very meta 4th movie?

One of my good mates works for my roofing business 5 days a week... Hard graft, Up on roofs in all weather. Just came 2nd in the NABBA North Britain novice. Do you know how hard that is? Working a physical job 5 days a week and still having the discipline to train, diet and prep for a bodybuilding show on top of it? Most people can't even get to the gym 3 times a week with a desk job... This man is up at the crack of dawn grafting on roofs then hitting the gym - Every single day. For months. Respect doesn't even cover it. Absolute machine.

Many engaged managers are already on 20–30+ points from Saturday games, with heavy hitters like Haaland (most capped), Bruno Fernandes, Cherki, O'Reilly, and Arsenal assets still to play. Green arrows incoming for those with City and Arsenal coverage.

A lot of #FPL content creators sold or benched Semenyo this week. If he gets benched, it's over. It would be clear that those guys get leaks, which is ok for me. What I don't like is them lying about getting leaks & pretending they don't. Just stop deceiving people. #FPLCommunity

To be honest, you don't actually have a business. You have a business based on exploitation, which means your business model is neither sound nor ethical.

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.

Gym I started out in was a vibe. Picture this…rough as fuck gym in the middle of Bootle, Liverpool. Probably the size of about 2 living rooms put together. Full of rusty barbells, racks, dumbbells and a few machines…nothing fancy. Posters of Arnold and Lou Ferrigno on the wall. Speaker was always blasting heavy metal/rock. AC/DC Pantera Alice in Chains Metallica Slayer Soundgarden Ozzy Ossbourne You know the drill. The smell was a mixture of BO, sweat, blood, farts, coffee and shite from the one half functioning toilet that flushed when it felt like. But what made the gym was the unsavoury characters. You have a mixed bag of everyone. Suspect individuals (probably drug dealers), taxi drivers, builders, truck drivers, students etc. Didn’t matter who you were. Everyone was welcome as long as you wasn’t a fanny, poser or looking for trouble. If you were in the gym for the wrong reasons? You didn’t last long. Everyone was there for one common goal. Hard fucking training. Set the tone for me.

Yes, so let's address why it is failing and what could make it thrive. It is failing because it can't sell enough product at a profitable level to cover its costs. How could it thrive? Well there is all the state imposed costs - VAT, Business Rates, high energy costs, NI increase, inflationary pressures etc... If these did not exist the place would be thriving. So what does this tell you, that the state imposes a drag which makes businesses fail. So what does that tell you?

I’m presuming you’re a capitalist. As such I assume you’ll accept that your coffee shop is a failing business if you can’t afford to pay people properly. The market always knows best, right? 🤷‍♀️
