I am retarded, but not THAT kind of retarded. Simply stating accuracy in imperial is a mouthful & it’s not that accurate anyway. I will NEVER have to express 132.4cm as: 1 meter, 32 cm, & 4mm. But in Imperial you have to use your largest unit followed by inches & a fraction. Doesn’t fully convert. You speak a lot more for less accurate info. So yes calling a 2x4 makes 100% sense because the alternative is a bullshit mouthful nobody has time for. Even those that came up with it.
