One of my favorite quotes is: "All bubbles are basically ideas that are initially right but eventually taken to excess." - This couldn't be further from the truth. NVIDIA itself is an amazing company, no one is denying this. The topic of the bubble comes into play when talking about any innovative market that is growing so fast that reality gets overcome by emotions. We saw an almost identical setup when it comes to CISCO during the dot-com bubble in the early 2000s. This stock rose over 2100% before popping and flat-lining for decades. Both saw similar optimism and excitement, with the same gross margins (60-70%), revenue growth, and limited competition. This is the exact spot Nvidia is in right now. It rose due to its massive power in the AI space. Non-stop media coverage, investors' eyes globally, extreme emotions, and FOMO have surged this to one of the most valuable companies in the entire world. This firm is easily worth far less than half of it's crazy $3.1 trillion valuation. Another one of my other top investing quotes is from Sir John Templeton. He once said the four most dangerous words in investing are "this time it's different." No one knows when, but there will be a time when the music stops in the giant game of musical chairs.
