🚨🇮🇱🇱🇧 Israel's Defense Minister Katz: "We will turn the villages in southern Lebanon into areas like Beit Hanoun and Rafah, Gaza." Flattening Gaza didn't get rid of Hamas, what makes them think the same strategy will get rid of Hezbollah?
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🚨🇮🇷 Iran has yet to unleash its submersible torpedo-firing speedboats. You can think of them as underwater versions of the cheap Shahed drone that took out a $300 million U.S. radar. They're fast and capable of causing chaos in the Strait of Hormuz. Source: Bloomberg

@balajis @mmjukic Man, your geopolitical and military takes are so bad it makes me question your economic ones. Out of 5,000ish sorties a few planes were damaged and zero pilots killed. If that’s not total air dominance I don’t know what is.

@mmjukic The problem with that strategy is that an F-35 was confirmed shot down. There are reports of two F-35s and an F-16 shot down, along with several other aircraft. If that’s reproducible, the US may not have air supremacy. See Bloomberg & NPR below. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@CryptoAngel26 @WarMonitors All their leadership is dead. Most of their missile infrastructure destroyed. They have no navy or air force. Sure they can still launch a few dozen drones and missiles per day that are doing near zero damage. But those AI videos though 😂

Lebanese civilians did not deserve this. They are the victims of criminally negligent Lebanese governments and foreign diplomats who for 25 years allowed Lebanese territory to be used as a launchpad for attacks on a neighboring state by an Iranian proxy army.
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇱🇧 Absolutely heartbreaking to see what Lebanon has now lost in this war. The Ministry of Health just reported 1,001 killed and 2,584 injured since it began. What lebanese civilians did to deserve this? It's a rhetorical question, btw, they did NOTHING! Source: Yediot News

@Ralphsaade Such a shortsighted narrative. All that is happening to you is because for 70 years the Lebanese allowed Lebanon to be used as a base to attack Israel (first via Palestinians and now via Hezbollah). You are all responsible for your collective pain and suffering.

Half of my family is Lebanese Shia from the Bekaa Valley; the other half is Syrian Sunni from Damascus. I don’t know how many of them hate Israel. But I do know this: most of them despise Hezbollah, Assad, al-Julani and his government, the Houthis, and the Iranian regime. And all of them hate war. For years, we prayed—for Assad to fall, for Nasrallah to leave us alone, for Khamenei to finally die of old age. Nothing changed. Because peace does not come from wishful thinking alone. It requires action. And whether people admit it publicly or only whisper it in private, many already know: Israel did what others only hoped for. More will say it out loud when the fear is gone. I choose to say it now: Thank you, Israel 🇮🇱 I love you. Am Yisrael Chai ✡️

@WCCollier1 @TheAliceSmith @The1Apostate Well you seem to have given this a lot of thought and I don’t disagree with anything you state. I was making a theoretical explanation as to why islam is not islamism but clearly was just an intellectual exercise and not rooted in the reality of how islam is believed

All told, it’s as nearly perfect a system as could be devised to preserve itself against loose interpretation, while giving the majority of adherence options to affirm its most vicious proclamations in their literal meaning without forcing them to participate personally. Creating a version of Islam which reinterprets hundreds of Quranic commands to violence figuratively, with no precedent for this in the Quran and tens of thousands of Hadith (being the only sources on Muhammad himself) reinforcing that they are meant literally, leaves the Sufi or similar reformer straining cognitive dissonance to the breaking point. And meanwhile, in those Hadith, Muhammad commands, “Whoever changes his religion, kill him,” and in the Quran and Hadith both, the hypocrites (those who propose to follow Islam but follow a modified or fake version of it and don’t keep the law) are to be killed, so such creative interpreters can never increase in number inside a mainstream Muslim society. As perfectly hermetic as a religion can be in the real world. And it has worked as advertised. To this day you have major western Muslim influencers arguing that modern science is wrong and having sex with a girl as soon as she’s old enough not to be physically injured by it is the superior practice.

@WCCollier1 @TheAliceSmith @The1Apostate That’s an excellent question. I’m guessing sufism has never taken over because it was (and is) rejected by a majority of muslims. Perhaps it’s because muslims were never subjugated to Christians the way jews were. What is your opinion?

@Crypto_Counsel @TheAliceSmith @The1Apostate This version of Judaism which you describe arose organically in a Christian world after the destruction of the Temple. The Islamic corollary is Sufism. Why do you suppose Sufism has never taken over Islam the way this version of Judaism has taken over Judaism?
