Copying this over from another post in case anyone has a questions after watching the video…. We also have our regular AMA this Wednesday so feel free to come hangout as we discus plans for launch and answer questions. 1. I, like everyone else that is still active in this amazing space fell in love with the principles and potential of web3 gaming. Ideas like autonomy, interoperability, ownership, and being apart of the journey in a ways that traditional games never gave us gave me feelings towards games I’ve never felt and can’t forget! Some of these ideas were very real and while some in practice were not as real (remember the phase where every game was going to have interoperability with every other game 😂). This lead to a ton of missed expectations and lost investments. Like many of you, I personally invested multiple six figures in these ideas and it still hurts everytime I see another studio either pivot or go under. I love this space and most of all I love the principles it stands for. 2. Tech and strategies change but values shouldn’t. My greatest disappointment personally isn’t the missed promises (I should have known that studios couldn’t make ready player one a reality), it’s that after all these years blockchain tech still asks too much of the studio, the partners, and the consumer to make it the best way to scale a game globally. Not to mention the fact that many gamers still don’t understand it and will walk away the sec they hear it’s apart of your game. So while we are not using blockchain in the game, we are as passionate as ever about the principles of this space. That’s why instead retreating to the safety of a traditional web2 tcg meta game, we are doubling down by building what we call the Counter-strike of TCG’s: Limited print sealed packs, booster boxes, and cases that you can rip or keep sealed and digital cards with 10+ levels of rarity to chase (top chase from set 1 is 1/2500 packs) trade, grade, and sell. 3. Lastly we owe it to our amazing supporters here as well as our traditional investors to make the right decision to give this incredible game and ecosystem that we have worked on for 3+ years the best shot at success. As hard as it is for me to say as someone that has believed and invested and hoped that blockchain tech would breakthrough for 4+ years. The best choice for everyone (KGDS, Blueprints, and investors) is to follow in the footsteps of the most successful digital ecosystem of all time, Counter-strike. The good news is that we can still make good on all the core promises with KGDS and Blueprints while setting up @origins_tcg to win as a game and the next great collectable using steams network and the massive 3rd party network. So in summary our strategy is changing but our values have not! Hopefully this helps clarify a bit. I genuinely love this space, I wouldn’t be here without it, and that why we are taking the risk to keep the principles of autonomy and ownership at the core of our experience.
