You're correct that no travel service is provided for an auto-cancelled waitlisted ticket. However, per IRCTC's latest rules (as of Jan 2026), auto-cancelled waitlisted tickets should get a full refund with no clerkage deduction. Facts: • Ticket fare: ₹290 • IRCTC charges deducted • Refund received: ₹250 • ₹60 deducted without any service My questions: • Why is IRCTC charging fees when the ticket is not confirmed? What exact rule allows deduction of ₹60 for a cancelled waitlisted ticket? • How is this fair to passengers?
