Dhurandhar: The Revenge I was in the countryside of California, finally made a trip to LA just to watch Dhurandhar. Shabash. Bravo. Brilliant once again, @AdityaDharFilms. I genuinely don’t know what to say… anything I add may only become noise over something that already speaks for itself. I’d rather call you. Everyone has done exceptional work. But I want to specifically acknowledge two less celebrated crafts that elevate this film into something far greater: 1. Vikash Nowlakha’s world-class cinematography, and 2. @sainisjohray’s exceptional production design. In cinema, the camera and production design are married to each other. Unless both are in complete harmony, a film cannot rise to the level of a masterpiece. In Dhurandhar, what we witness is pure synergy. Both Vikash and Saini Johray have done groundbreaking work… work that will stand as a benchmark for a long time. My heartfelt best to both of you. And a special salute. And Aditya, just an unsolicited word from experience: You are sharp, and you know your path. Just stay mindful of the ecosystem, it can be as vicious as it is seductive. And everyone else in #TeamDhurandhar, you rock. ❤️❤️❤️

धूल इस शहर में हर जगह धूल की परतें जम गई हैं मेरे दिलो-दिमाग़ की तरह। दुकानों के साइनेज हों या ऑटो की छतें कारों की नंबर प्लेटें हों या बिन-प्लास्टर की दीवारें ठेलों पर, चौराहे पर बैठे सांडों पर हर जगह बस धूल है— हवा में उड़ती, सड़कों पर बहती कुर्सी, मेज़, अलमारी हर जगह जमी धूल। ऑफिसों में फाइलों पर अफसरों के चश्मों पर अदालतों के फ़ैसलों पर ग्राहकी की आँखों में शहर के भविष्य पर बस धूल ही धूल है। बिल्कुल मेरे दिलो-दिमाग़ की तरह इस शहर में हो रहे हैं दफ़न कितने सपने, कितने अरमान धूल के नीचे डूब रहा है हर इंसान। यह शहर धँस रहा है धीरे-धीरे आँखों से ओझल हो जाएगा नक़्शे से भी। कोई ढूँढेगा भी नहीं हज़ारों साल तक। फिर किसी दिन किसी पुरातत्व विभाग की खुदाई में मिलेगा और लगेगा टिकट— १०० रुपये देसी, ५०० विदेशी पर्यटकों के लिए। ऐसे ही शहर में रहता हूँ धूल पीता हुआ, धूल खाता हुआ, धूल सहता हुआ— धीरे-धीरे धूल बनता हुआ।

I’m in Uttarakhand for a project, and while working here, I discovered the serene beauty of this Devbhoomi. It’s a truly divine experience.💫

DHURANDHAR Just landed back in India after two months and the first thing we did was watch @AdityaDharFilms Dhurandhar. Mind blown and proud are the only words that come to my mind. Anyone who knows what goes into making a film would understand what it takes to pull something like this off. The vision, the writing, the confidence, the belief in your own instinct… this kind of cinema doesn’t happen by chance. The production design by my friend @sainisjohray is pathbreaking, not decorative, but narrative. The extraordinary music by young maestro @shashwatology is not just innovative but deeply rooted. The cinematography by Vikas Nowlakha is a new textbook for young DOPs. Performances… yes, some will obviously be more talked about. But the real victory of Dhurandhar is that even the smallest, most insignificant characters have delivered top-notch performances. Every face feels cast, directed, and placed with intention. Most importantly, every department is in rare sync, working as one organism. That kind of cohesion doesn’t happen by accident. That’s when you know it’s purely a writer/director’s film. @adityadharfilms, I’ve always admired your work, especially your sense of scale and design, but this is you operating on another level. I watched the film with genuine pride… proud of you, proud of the craft, proud of Indian cinema. You are blessed. Truly. God’s own child. More power to you. Keep going. Keep raising the bar. When the younger generation does work like this, Indian cinema moves forward. Simple. Bravo!
