#1 -DeepSeek’s R1 can have a very positive impact. By democratizing access to frontier models at a fraction of the cost and making it open source—it creates opportunity for other players, enables innovation, and reduces monopolistic control and this is positive.

@rcwillenbrock now they figure out what it means. that OpenAI moat is away and maybe that $500 billion could be beaten.

Why is the market (and the media) just now reacting to DeepSeek? DS-VS been around for a month, DS-R1 for a week. What triggered the market reaction and news pop today?
