We’ve seen some suggestions that Oxford Street was ‘closed down’ earlier which isn’t really an accurate reflection of today’s events. While a large group of protestors walked down the road, traffic and pedestrians were still able to get around. Officers were with the group throughout and the level of disruption was monitored closely. Some shops did decide to close their doors for a short time whilst the protest passed, but then re-opened and have carried on with their day’s trading.  The area has been packed with people and as you’d expect two days before Christmas. It’s still very busy with lots of shoppers and tourists who have largely been able to carry on as normal.

Any government hoping for more than that has a lot of law to strike from the statute books, and more it would need to introduce to outlaw gender identities and expressions.

The DfE ‘Gender Questioning Children’ draft guidance has been published. It is, IMHO, wrong in law in a number of respects and, if followed, would lead schools to act unlawfully towards trans pupils. It is also a cruel attack on a vulnerable minority by a nasty government …

@DPJHodges There's a process to public sector procurement, you need to follow the rules set out in the Treasury Green Book. They choose not to follow it for this. The intentionally bypassed existing routes and processes to filter public money to their pals.

@BladeoftheS This is absolutely indefensible. I’m 72 years old. I have worn ARCO safety gear in many job roles over the years - as an HSE Inspector for Govt, a H&S Officer for the LA, and as a Health worker. ARCO is the industry “go to” for PPE. How dare the Govt ignore them?
