The rental market in Zürich is nuts. Looking for an apartment is a full-time job.

Humans are returning to the Moon for the first time in 54 years in less than a month. This is not being talked about enough.

Porting @applybaseapp over to vanilla React with a Hono backend is taking longer than expected, but I'm liking the results so far.

NextJS just gets too bogged down and messy with server files, client files, action files, etc. I've learned over the past few years that I want things to be separate. Frontend app does client stuff. Server app does server stuff. I've been really liking @honojs on Cloudflare workers.

@CtrlAltIdeate Curious why? I wanted to try NextJS for my next project. What would you use as a separate backend? Cheers

Ok, I've officially had enough. 2026 is the year of vanilla React and a separate backend. No project that I start will be NextJS.

I used to love coding I could spend days and nights doing it I’d discover new library or a framework, sit for 20 hours straight until I rewrite my app with it I was proud of my code, UI, db schema… I’d sit with a problem for hours or days and the moment I figured out great solution, I felt euphoric Today, I lost this joy. AI can do it all better than me. It’s almost like food. I used to love cooking, but today I simply go to the best restaurants and their food is amazing. I don’t enjoy my work anymore as I used to do. The only thing I still enjoy is twitting, because AI sucks at it, for now… I miss old good days, when I went to sleep thinking about a architecture, a function or an elegant code I will write tomorrow morning as soon as I wake up AI is like a shopping mall, I go there and buy anything I want I loved the old days when I had to do most of the things with my own hands AI is the greatest invention of my lifetime. I know how to monetize the sh*t out of it…but I lost the child like joy I used to experience at work and I feel really sad about it

@nomalex_ Here's the thing - they don't. Believe it or not, people don't tell the truth on the internet 😀

I seriously don't understand how one can release +10 mobile apps in a month. When I create an app I spend so much time making a great user experience that even re-using my other apps' code it takes me AT LEAST 3 days, for a "simple" app. And I code fast (thanks Claude). Then add 1 day for ASO + translations + creating screenshot, 1 day to setup the website, promotion, etc. 5 days for an app is the minimum. So even spending 100% of my time on it (which I can't) I couldn't do it. How can they release quality app??

@fullstackmiguel I recently completed a coding challenge for a consultancy I was thinking of working for, and I had to build a bunch of React stuff from scratch. It reminded me how much I love writing code without tab completion.

all LLMs are down Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, all suffering from an outage. would you still be able to code, or are you too dependent already?

@fullstackmiguel I think it all depends on whether you're ok with these corporations exploiting all of your ideas. Remember - when products are free, you're the product.

i think analog might actually be dead i know i just said like 2 days ago that 2026 is the year of analog but when i can journal digitally and have AI read what i've been thinking lately, read my emails to know what i've been working on, check my calendar to know what i've been doing then generate a bunch of posts ideas and new connections and ideas it starts to be really tough to justify writing on paper

2026 is going to be the year @applybaseapp hits 10,000 users. It’s the year of marketing for me. Applybase is a completely free job search tracking tool. Check it out and submit some feature requests 💪

From app store rejection to 30x year-over-year growth. Here's how Runna was able to focus on their app (instead of subscription logic), to launch and scale right out of the gate.
