@Farbklex91 @KernelFox0 @N104AP @jassdotgg @vaxryy I’ve got a Linux computer set up in roughly 10 minutes it’s not hard. As you say, if you’ve been using an OS your whole life it is easy. You had to learn to go online and download that exe file, I learnt to open discover and click install. You were not born with that knowledge.

These thumbnails are getting more ridiculous by the day. Also, I find it funny that LLMs told Linus to install PopOS, since that distro hasn't been recommended for many years now. I am guessing it's because the LLMs are using old Reddit data for training and don't weigh new posts

What I've learnt from LTT, maybe you shouldn't swap you're entire operating system when you're at a LAN and people are waiting for you to join the game.

@BrodieOnLinux That's something they have to learn. But rather than "is my keyboard working? nothing is happening," we get "oh, it's a password prompt, so it won't move until I hit enter" Granted, just "learning" negates the need for the locked cursor, but I'd like to see it come to Linux.

@phoronix Ah, the bait and switch. 1. Let us rewrite this utility so it's more secure. Drop-in replacement. Bug for bug compatible. You won't even notice. Months later: 2. We have altered your UI, config file, and security model. Pray we do not alter it further.

sudo-rs Breaks Historical Norms With Now Enabling Password Feedback By Default Not everyone happy about this default change that is already picked up by Ubuntu 26.04, etc. Change made in name of UX, those against argue less security. phoronix.com/news/sudo-rs-p…

DONT YOU DARE BRING KLARISSA INTO THIS. SHE WAS MY LIFE.
NWBro Janeway@NWBroJaneway

@TArchcast Reminder that Templin had a crashout because Klarissa their old female narrator rejected his flirting and was revealed to be in a commited relationship. Which made the Templin man seethe and tantrum on his discord. This is what caused Klarissa to leave.
