The US quietly gave Britain major help in the 1982 Falklands War:Backed the UK diplomatically after trying (and failing) to mediate, and hit Argentina with sanctions. Shared critical satellite and signals intelligence on Argentine positions. Let Britain use Ascension Island as a vital forward base. Supplied ~100 top-line Sidewinder missiles that made the Harriers far deadlier, plus fuel, ammo, and other gear.Reagan straight-up told his team to give Thatcher whatever she needed. Britain still did the fighting, but this support was a big reason they won.

Spain is a member of NATO. Spain denied the United States, also a member of NATO, access to its Airspace when conducting attacks on Iran. We are told Spain cannot be removed from NATO despite this belligerence. So it’s time 🇺🇸 just left it.

@ERamos49743 @galahadsdad @RX_9999_2 Right right. It makes much more sense to pay for a bot in Japan with a much more limited reach, completely reliant upon grok translate, than it does to pay for a us based bot.

@galahadsdad @RX_9999_2 Because it’s a Japanese bot paid for by Republicans, told exactly what to say. They know the average American is stupid—they idolize Japanese people—and yes, they’ll listen to a Japanese bot with anime avatars.

@Nymouse__Anno @rocinante2d @WarMonitor3 Explain why America had been building a peacetime army at the time? Who continued to fund and supply allies throughout the war? Why did America have a Germany first approach after Pearl Harbor? I know its cool to be anti-america but its never cool to be an idiot.

@rocinante2d @WarMonitor3 Actually, the USA would not have fought against Nazi Germany even after the attack on Pearl Harbor if Hitler had not declared war on the USA. The problem wasn't Roosevelt. He was well aware of Hitler. The problem were US-Americans, who were partially on the side of Hitler,...

@higureshuuen Everything you say is logical, but my reason is that I just dont respect a late antiquity religion that was used to benefit the creator and only spread by force.

@vboykis I've actually code reviewed a co-worker into quitting once. Left like 80 comments on each code review round and added even more after he fixed those. My manager says I'm a toxic reviewer but services in our area of responsibility never experience outages caused by our code.

@brunotorious @hunvreus I still need to maintain the context in my head so when I go back to look at what was generated, I can determine if it is how I would do it and if theres a discrepancy, figure out which approach is better.

@hunvreus Not an 'expert' but would definitely say parallelizing is super powerful for me. The ability to do what you described, but across multiple tasks (I use worktrees for this - haven't found a better way). Also, claude, not codex for me but 🤷‍♂️

My use of AI is about as grug brained as it comes: - I talk to it for a while, arguing about architecture, priorities, scope, etc, to align on a plan. - Once we're on the same page, I let it build stuff. - I then test, ask more questions and refine. It usually runs on its own for 30 seconds to a few minutes. Sometimes 5 to 10 minutes if it's a big chunk of work. I've probably never had an agent running for more than 30 minutes. I don't use worktrees, subagents, ralph loops, ... It's mostly Codex, occasionally Pi. I've built a handful of skills and usually have a pretty short AGENTS.md. That's it. Now, I'd like to hear from the "AI experts" what I'm doing wrong.

U.S. Central Command
U.S. forces have directed 29 vessels to turn around or return to port as part of the U.S. blockade against Iran. Over past 24 hours, media reports have alleged that several commercial ships evaded the blockade, citing M/V Hero II, M/V Hedy, and M/V Dorena as examples. These reports are inaccurate. Hero II and Hedy did not sail past the blockade as part of a flotilla that “ferried” millions of barrels of oil to the market. In fact, the Iranian-flagged tankers are anchored in Chah Bahar, Iran, after being intercepted by U.S. forces earlier this week. Dorena has been under the escort of a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Indian Ocean after previously attempting to violate the blockade. The U.S. military has global reach. American forces are operating and enforcing the blockade across the Middle East and beyond.
