The grassroots, the RPT, and Scorecard’s influencers and adjacent groups used to be pretty untied in their messaging. Now you got RPT lawyers running paid ads against Republicans they used to glorify, grassroots groups losing their mind over Speaker Burrows sponsoring the RPT convention, and former Scorecard influencers still pushing old messaging because they no longer have marching orders. It’s a complete shitshow and this is all going on while Republicans are getting destroyed in elections.

This is very disturbing for me. Dustin Burrows has betrayed the Republican Party and all Republican voters in a way I've never seen before. First, he literally stole the speaker election from the Republican caucus, and then shortly after, he basically slapped Republican representatives in the face with the sham process to ram the Rules package through without discussion or debate. He told one representative that I know of that if he wanted a seat at the table, he wold have to sit down, be quiet, and do what he was told. Fortunately that representative said no thank you. I'm not ready to just let bygones be bygones. Unless Mr. Burrows is ready to apologize and ask forgiveness, (which he won't), I will not listen to what he has to say at convention. He can't just buy back favor with a large donation. And - yes - I'm aware that under his tenure, 43 RPT priority bills passed. That's great. But has anyone counted how many were left on the table? Pretty sure it's more than 43!

“Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.” The Dallas metro area is on a trajectory to pass greater Chicago as the nation’s 3rd largest population center, yet recent days have produced dozens of posts ranting about DFW’s purported awfulness. Well, massive growth, major corporate relocations, and broad regional prosperity outweigh your anecdotes and idiosyncratic preferences. Don’t like Dallas? Good, stay home; it’s getting too crowded here.

Let me explain Dallas(s) 1. The summers are unbearable and this cannot be understood without moving there. You can't just visit Texas for 3 weeks in peak summer and understand it, because that's not why it's bad. It's bad because it's late October and it's 90+ and you're questioning your sanity as to whether not it will ever end. 2. Dallas' culture, superficially seems good, but once you dig down... 3. Dallas living is about the airport. You save money in Dallas and then fly out all the time because being in Dallas is rough. Airline travel in the US has declined a lot, so this way of life works less well. 4. The driving. It's dangerous. You need a tank and you're going to be sitting in it all the time. Dallas sort of seems like a city but it's not really. It's more like an area. 5. You can trade 3% state income tax for better weather, more trees, and fewer problems. I think Dallas is a solid place to live in a bigger house with A/C and grind for money aggressively for a short period of time and then move out of. Other than that, unless you are tied down there (job, family), I can't recommend it.

.@CurrentRevolt there has to be a term akin to “Harrison zombies” for those of us under extreme friendly fire for praising Speaker @Burrows4TX involvement with the RPT ☠️

Devastating news out of Lubbock: My dear friend Chad Hasty passed away this morning. His voice was known across much of the Great State and had a heart as big as Texas. I'll miss him very much #TxLege

Thrifted this dress for $20. It’s Zara. Nothing special, but it looked cute on the rack and I love the way I feel in it. I’d probably be shocked to catalog my closet and see how much of it was thrifted, gifted or bought on major sale.
