btw, Shirow Masamune fans don't regard The Human Algorithm as a part of Shirow Masamune's manga canon. It doesn't mean that the series is bad. We just don't think it's included in the universe.

The Shirow Masamune universe's timeline is like, ORION -> Black Magic -> The Ghost in the Shell -> Human Error Processor -> Manmachine Interface -> various hentai art books -> Appleseed -> Neuro Hard Dominion doesn't have a particular place. PitCS comes before GitS.

@htGOIW TBH, The Human Algorithm came out so much longer after the first 3 that I didn't really have any desire to read into it. I'll probably get around to it eventually.

Having a preference is fine, but to say the upcoming THE GHOST IN THE SHELL “looks ass” because Motoko rarely shows emotions just tells me you simply know nothing about the series Motoko shows many sides of herself in the manga, which I find very endearing

@tkn0801 Yeah it's like the main thing about her that people get wrong. The Oshii version didn't completely erase her goofiness but the 80s style expressions were lost in the interpretations that followed that movie. She's super expressive!

@CheeseGX_ @FERI214 I would suggest giving it another try. Everyone complains about the CGI animation, but since it is season 4 and 5 of Stand Alone Complex, the story holds up pretty well.
