@hillarylmcbride Yes, and also similar supports for partners of medical students and residents.

I have seen the data on paper and playing out in front of me: there needs to be support systems in place for partners of people in PhD programs. If the bond is lucky enough to survive, rarely is it unscathed, and the toll on partners still exists years after the degrees are done.

@inqdragon2 I do! And my kids do too. I'm trying model and teach them to write thank you notes not because they are obligated to do so because of social rules but as an exercise of mindfulness and gratitude.

Does anybody write thank you notes any more? And thank you for answering this question.

@hillarylmcbride I revised and resubmitted a draft of an academic article for publication. I am not sure if it's good enough for the reviewers but I did my best and I'm trying hard to recognize that regardless of the outcome, I can feel proud of my work.

What is something you feel proud about today? No small thing is too small, no big thing will cost you for sharing about. Let’s celebrate you. For me today I’m proud of telling myself the truth about something that was hard to admit to myself.

@hillarylmcbride I needed to understand what "champing" means so I looked it up and it means "to grind teeth." So, I guess we aren't too of in pronunciation or in literal meaning of the phrase. Ahhh, the evolution of language.

Because of her I can own a home without a man having to co-sign, because of her, my job while I was pregnant and as a mother was protected. Because of her, I can open my own line of credit. This is what her legacy is.

@SpencerJCox I disagree with her on almost everything, but I admire her tenacity at continuing the struggle of life…despite recurring cancer and other obstacles. From what I’ve read, she always had a great attitude despite the difficulty. We can all learn from this.

Two years ago I had the honor of meeting Justice Ginsburg. She had a brilliant legal mind and was every bit as funny and engaging as advertised. We obviously disagreed on many legal opinions, but honor her legacy as a trailblazer and dedicated public servant.
