This season, I have been fortunate to play against Anderlecht + Ajax (away), with Arsenal. Against Man City (away) with Pro Elite, won the Hale End Cup with Arsenal and won the Middlesex Cup in Bush Hill Rangers last ever season. So I don’t lose the memories and thoughts 🏆

How many times do we see a player execute in training, fail to see them do it in the match and then blame the player? Execution in training = us teaching. Execution in games = them learning. Don’t stop until they get to the latter.

Better infrastructures make better coaches, who make better players and people. I’m super proud of what we’ve managed to pull off, but I’m equally as excited to start contributing to tournaments held by others in the space doing wonderful things.

This year, we’ve committed to hosting 4 internal tournaments a year. But we’ve also committed to attending tournaments externally more, as we believe that contributing to a stronger base of community football events, not just held by us, will help raise the level everywhere.

My most memorable moments growing up all came from tournament football. All day, your best friends and loads of games. Not only have we just pulled off our own tournament… we done it all internally. 16 teams. 16 coaches. 6 hours of football - all internal.

@CxachAli Agree, but the problem is most coaches don’t know how to coach technique Most plays break down not due to tactics but due to technique (a bad bobbly pass, weight of pass) Coaches nowadays like to use tactical buzzwords to sound important

Players will pretend to know what’s being asked of them out of fear of looking inferior to the group. That’s why it’s important to check for learning in different ways. It’s not always that the players are acting up, or “should have said” if they didn’t understand.

“What players know dictates what they can learn” If a player hasn’t grasped a concept yet, going in and re-teaching it is important to base the foundation of what you can teach next.

@AncentMuema48 @CxachAli Just in the enviroments I am privy to . Kids are highly skilled but don’t really recognise the frames of reference that use to be common knowledge . Like Striker drops in can a midfielder get beyond . Winger tucks in can someone get around the outside .

How many young players ability to combine in small spaces go unseen because of other plays inability to combine?

@AncentMuema48 Or on the flip side - a player that looks to combine into a space unoccupied which turns into a “loose pass”, when it could have been a magical combination if the receiver had decided to move into that space earlier? Interesting

@CxachAli So many man. Good discussion here coach but a keen eye will always see. How so? The action after the first pass; does he move to space? Signal to receiver where they want the pass? That potential requires a keen eye.

When people say players had “too much time” and are “better off of instinct” Is it because they’re actually good decision makers, but poor problem solvers? Is a good decision made in the moment just a fast decision?

Learning how to win is important, the result is of no importance.
