@Tiefseher Macht keinen Sinn. Die Einschätzung vom Bundesministerium für Finanzen und Bundesfinanzhof ist, dass Bitcoin und andere Coins "andere Wirtschaftsgüter" nach §23 EStG sind. Die Haltefrist müsste im Paragraphen gekippt werden. Besteuerung ist immer nach geltendem Recht.

Größte Überraschung meiner Recherche zur Krypto-Steuer: Wenn das Finanzministerium die Haltefrist kippt, dürfen wir uns nicht darauf verlassen, dass Buchgewinne, die vor 2026 angefallen sind, von der Steuer verschont bleiben. "Vertrauenschutz" ist keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Als wahrscheinlich gilt dennoch eine Stichtaglösung. Die Frage ist nur: Ab welchem Stichtag? Failing to pass the Clarity Act may not hurt XRP or clarity about the nature of the token but anything that hurts the broader crypto market will put downward pressure on XRP price because XRP price movement is correlated to the broader crypto market price movement particularly bitcoin price movement.

Ok those numbers are actually the reason why!
A 1% chance XRP would hit $10k, meaning there is a 99% chance it won't. Those are bad numbers for a "rich, rational person".
Further, not everyone knows about XRP, let alone crypto. The regular investor brain can't get around "intangible digital value".
So I would say the rational investor who "gets" it is likely already invested. If someone holds 500k tokens, that's likely the limit of how much they are willing to lose. After all, an intangible digital asset is essentially worthless.
So until XRP forms an integral part of the proposed payment rails, investors won't look at it. The risk/reward calculation in their lay minds doesn't add up.
Well, this is the sentiment and discussion I have with many wealthy people who would never touch crypto

Hey bud, ex-Rippler here. I’ve been hearing this same sad story the last 6+ years. Just do a little research and you’ll quickly understand. Ripple’s still all-in on the ecosystem with massive holdings and growth. They didn’t abandon XRP, they’re layering both RLUSD and XRP for real adoption.

$XRP is done. @Ripple milked it for all its worth. They bought their businesses using the profits from XRP. They have moved on to stable coins. @bgarlinghouse will continue to to give vague hype around it cause it costs him nothing...but @JoelKatz is giving you reality.

La clave: sube papers de calidad. Si la fuente es mala, el análisis también lo será.

It makes 0 sense to believe that @Ripple would not fully commit to XRP, given they are the biggest bagholders and have the biggest financial incentive to grow their own valuation in terms of $ worth.
If you're fully convinced that they are not aligned with XRP or even working against XRP, you're consequently admitting that Ripple must be an irrational actor, working against their own interest.
Following up on this, you have to ask yourself why an irrational actor, in your point of view, would continuously be paying for XRP Ledger developments through @RippleXDev, which is the most rational thing to do if you want to increase the value of XRP.
Also integrating digital asset capabilities into Ripple Treasury, highlighting XRP and RLUSD on their homepage, and writing about the XRP blockchain in their latest "blueprint" that was about Ripple Prime to highlight that XRPL has a specific use case for their business that's valuable to them.
Sounds pretty rational to me.
Price is a different topic, since XRP is not a security but a digital asset commodity.
