Sometimes a street doesn't need any traffic signs. A street #design can contains all information. A veces una calle no necesita ninguna señal de tráfico. El propio #diseño de la #calle puede incluir toda la información. Het ontwerp van een straat zegt soms genoeg.

Immediately outside the #AmeliaTrustFarm, off the new A4226, road is being built without a segregated path for children to walk or cycle. This is shameful! Why is there no scrutiny @CllrKing? Is there accountability? @VOGCouncil & @wgdep_economy - This is simply not good enough!

@MetCycleCops @SuptAndyCox Was this in any way dangerous, or are we enforcing rules that when it comes down to scrutiny, look silly? Fortunately, we don't have jaywalking laws in the UK.

@WelshGovernment & @VOGCouncil are proud to have taken every measure possible to max. safety & comfort of motorists along the new £26m #A4226. Safety barriers have been placed extensively along the road where there are no soft children to cushion collisions. #ValeOfGlamorgan

The @WelshGovernment & @VOGCouncil would like to reassure motorists who may be concerned with the close proximity of posts to the new £26m, 60mph A4226. The posts are designed to be just as “crash friendly" as children who may be walking or cycling along the pathway.

On #CleanAirDay @CycleBath did a most excellent ride around Bath's city centre. Taking this car sized bike back home afterwards, I was beeped at by a woman in a car on her own and told I was taking up too much space. It's the size of a Ford Fiesta. She was in a much larger 4x4 🤣

@anotherJon @lucullus @walking_boston Here in Wales, farmers get priority over people cycling... It's a global problem. Engineers are not concerned about user experiences of the infrastructure they create.

This is what snatching defeat from the jaws of victory looks like. This local authority were close - so close - to building an active travel scheme that might actually encourage active travel. But they bottled it. The car is king. With thanks to @walking_boston for the photo.

Am pleased to hear the announcement that Wales is to set a default 20mph limit for urban/village roads with local authorities able to set exceptions. See the announcement in the Senedd today. senedd.tv/Meeting/Clip/b…

OV-Fiets is the Netherlands’ national rental bike service, operated by rail company NS. For €3.85 per 24-hour period, residents can borrow one of 22,500 bicycles from one of 300 train stations across the country. And those bikes made an amazing 4.2 million journeys last year!

This is why, instead of painted cycle lanes, we are fighting for: 1) protected tracks 2) filtered, low traffic streets 3) greenways 4) all linked by high quality junctions road.cc/content/news/2…

It's time to bin the #WelshGovernment #ActiveTravel Design Guidance. This inadequate infrastructure won't encourage people to walk/cycle along the new #A4226 in the #ValeOfGlamorgan. Another wasted opportunity 2 build infrastructure that is loved by families with young children

My pump has rescued the 2nd person this year on the A48 in the Vale. It's always good to check on someone with a puncture. Often, it's very easy to make a big difference to someone's day. Twice people have repaired a puncture, but their pump has failed. My pump's kept in my car.
