The 2028 Olympics have nothing to do with the next WBC. It’s likely in 2029. Olympics are just an additional tournament the players will partake in

Maybe I’m in the minority, but if the Olympic baseball tournament is going to be 6 teams - and not the best 6 - I’d rather MLB players not even participate. Especially if that prevents a WBC in 2029.

NIT should become the mid major national championship. 32 teams to include all conferences outside BIG10/BIGE/BIG12/ACC/SEC.
Start tournament after 1st round of NCAA. Mid majors who lose 1st round join the bracket. Play the championship game at the site of the Final 4. DO IT!

I am a Democrat. I served in the Clinton administration. I did not vote for Donald Trump and am highly unlikely to support him or his acolytes in the future. I also have serious disagreements with many of the Trump administration’s domestic and foreign policies. But it is profoundly disturbing that a growing segment of the far left appears to be almost rooting for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime, and other forces fundamentally opposed to the United States and our allies. This seems to reflects a corrosive strain of anti-Americanism, dressed up in postcolonial theory, that risks blinding us to the moral realities of our world and the nature of our adversaries.

My immediate reaction:
Many other teams (i.e. Venezuela) played with more passion, more commitment, and more unity. Team USA clearly lacked this at times. Not all players, but numerous. That was the key difference. Who wanted it more? Evidently, not Team USA. Kudos, Venezuela!

Felicidades a Venezuela! They earned it. Team USA played great - pitching especially- but this was a well-deserved and long-deserved championship for 🇻🇪. Also, this was one of the greatest international tournaments in any sport I’ve ever seen. A win for ⚾️!

@bradypenn21 You may not know this. But, hitting a baseball is really hard. Great offenses have stretches like this all the time during the season. It's just magnified during a short tournament.
