@alphafox Absolutely NAILED that casting. Sinon; a character who commits a huge act of deception, then goes to hell for being a lying shitbag.

A woman dressed as a cat at a school board meeting just delivered the most savage analogy on gender ideology you'll hear this year. She declares: “My name is Lindsey Graham and I am a cat. Meow, meow. I’m not a woman dressed as a cat. I am a cat.” Then asks the room: “By show of hands, how many of you believe and confess that I’m a cat?” Zero hands. Her point: “You are right. Because you are not stupid. These children are not stupid. One look at me and you know this to be true. I am a woman posing as a cat.” She drives it home: “No tail, whiskers, or outfit makes me a cat… just like no lipstick, high heels, or long hair makes him a woman.” And the killer line: “If you were to address me as a cat right now, it’s as ridiculous as when you say Miss Bixler and a grown man’s voice comes thundering.” She asked the room to raise hands if they believed she was a cat. Not one hand went up. Do you think this analogy lands — or does it miss the mark entirely?

@KCiallo10032 @CareySexton17 @WomenReadWomen But you'd agree that everyone is capable of thinking anything? You can't point to a thought or feeling and say that the opposite sex is incapable of that thought or feeling. So the determining factor is the cells that make up the body, not the personality driving it?

@D45311686 @CareySexton17 @WomenReadWomen A female thought is a thought a female (person) has- like how a female brain is the brain of a female (person) Any explanation other than that is usually just misogynistic

@CareySexton17 @WomenReadWomen The point is there's no such thing as a male thought, or female thought. Your mind isn't gendered, your body is. Every cell of your body is either male or female, your mind is only ever you.

@D45311686 @WomenReadWomen It would be explaining ballistics to birds. Men cannot understand what is a woman's thought, because they are men. They'll try to quantify it. They can never understand it.

@SpeakUp4WomenNZ Uh, doesn't that mean that males who identify as women will now be allowed to 'rub-down' search unwilling women? Isn't that a bit rapey?

@AveryDaye The argument that animals can't tell an arsehole from an elbow so we should all shag elbows is weak. They're animals, they don't have an intellectual understanding of what sex is for.

I think women should be allowed to carry tazers. Particularly here in Victoria. The police need all the help they can get but it isn't feasible to allow men to carry weapons because we have a tendency to do dumb shit. Women are more likely to only use such measures when absolutely necessary.

A woman can get fined just by having pepper spray in her bag, as it means of self defence. Whilst use with machetes get bail no fine and walk out completely free. Download WatchTower if you want to alert people in your area of crime🚓👮‍♂️

If they can make you believe absurdities, they can make you commit atrocities. Once you are convinced that a human is nothing more than a clump of cells, you will kill indiscriminately. Once you are convinced that offence is justification for murder, no one is outside your reach. If you believe that reality is subjective, morality becomes optional.

I’m honestly still shaken up right now. I went to the bank this morning to handle something boring and normal. Nothing dramatic. Nothing political. Just an errand before the holiday weekend. I was wearing my red MAGA hat. That was it. A manager pulled me aside and told me another customer said my hat made them feel “uncomfortable” and “unsafe.” Unsafe. Because of a hat. I asked if I had done something wrong. I asked if I had said anything to anyone. I asked if I had bothered a single person in that building. She said no. But then she told me I could either remove the hat or come back another time. I’m not going to lie. I felt humiliated. I could feel people looking. I had that awful lump in my throat like I was back in school being scolded in front of everybody for something I did not do. And all I could think was, Since when are women only allowed to be “brave” when we believe what liberals tell us to believe? They say they support women. Until a woman loves God, loves America, supports Trump, and refuses to hide it. They say they want tolerance. But somehow tolerance always means normal people being told to shrink, apologize, remove the hat, hide the cross, lower the flag, and pretend we are the problem. I walked out. I will find another bank before I hide who I am to make some stranger feel powerful. I did not take the hat off. I will not apologize for loving my country. Has anyone else dealt with this, or are we all just supposed to keep pretending this is normal?#MAGA #AmericaFirst

There needs to be an understanding that the marketing campaign is the audience's first introduction to the movie, and nothing about Supergirl says, "Family of four, please invite me into your life and spend over $100 on me." Supergirl herself looks disgusting, like she's some desert lot lizard on her 3rd hangover in 2 days. Girls don't want to imagine themselves looking like trash, boys don't find this look mixed with her cynically aloofness personality attractive, and parents don't want their daughters thinking this what you aspire to be. Furthermore, the plot and look seems to be a cheap Guardians of the Galaxy reskin. How many times can you spend $100+ on a movie you've already seen in four different variations over the last 12 years? Then you have Milly Alcock actively alienating the audience by claiming Christian dads are "the right people to piss off" and announcing that Supergirl "swings both ways." Audience: "How does this sell movie tickets?" Marketing/ Alcock: "Movie tickets?" Sure, you can make the case that there is a social media dogpile happening here. You could even argue that rival studios are actively amplifying the backlash. But the biggest indicator that Supergirl is in trouble is its own introduction. Blame marketing, blame Gunn, blame Alcock, but don’t blame the audience who announces that they refuse to spend their hard-earned money on something that practically screams it's made of garbage juice.

I am growing exhausted by the constant onslaught of people posting the equivalent of a Fail Publicity Campaign for a movie that hasn’t even come out yet. Could we please just let people decide for themselves? Love it or hate it, it’s just kind of rude to other people who are just regular people wanting to see a movie to have so many people jumping on the Fail Bandwagon…. And most of the posts are written in such a way that they are delighting in trying to make it fail…. Because that’s what the algorithm rewards. Whether this film lives or dies is not the point. The point is that other people who just want to go see a movie are feeling like they can’t go see the movie they want to see because it feels like everyone is pressuring them not to see it…. Or pressuring them to hate it. People deserve to go see the movies they enjoy. People also deserve to avoid seeing the movies they don’t want to see. But nobody deserves to have the internet telling them what they should feel good about seeing and what they should feel bad about seeing. There is so little joy in the world right now, why take away someone else’s joy just because you don’t want to see a movie? It is okay to see supergirl if you want to see supergirl.
