Being a former cosch for years, fall is when I get asked the most questions about coaching. Time to share my thoughts.

I am extremely blessed to announce my commitment to Cornerstone University! I want to thank God, my friends, coaches, and family for supporting me through it all. I can’t express how grateful I am for the opportunity. Go Golden Eagles!

Pray instead of worrying. Pray instead of stressing. Pray instead of panicking. Pray instead of overthinking. Pray instead of assuming. Pray instead of controlling. Pray instead of wondering. In every situation: just Pray.

If you are a coach that has something to say on every pitch, every swing, every out, every run, every dribble, every pass, every turnover....you are overcoaching. Games are to be managed, practice is where you teach.

@nextlevelbb Have that same energy when it comes to coaches putting kids on a team they never intend on playing but put them on the team to get numbers up, donations etc.

Public Service Announcement If your son was dismissed from his high school team for missing the teams spring break tournament, to go on vacation (beach trip, etc.). Or Your son isn't getting playing time because he missed the spring break tournament for vacation. Do this. Call the school's athletic director or principal and request a meeting. Tell them it's important. At the meeting, tell them how much you appreciate the coach caring enough about your son to teach him about life, and how much you appreciate him holding your son accountable. Then thank them for hiring a coach that cared about commitment, sacrifice and teaching the kids that being a great teammate comes with responsibilities. Then suggest they give the coach a raise, shake their hands and reiterate how much you appreciate them.

I just spoke with the OHSAA regarding the process for how the Ms. Basketball nominations are chosen. The exact process is that each district is responsible for submitting a name for Ms. Basketball consideration. That list that you see published is not chosen by the OHSAA, they are just the names they have received to put on the ballot. Each OPSMA media member in Ohio then has a short window to send in their top three votes and the winner will be named next week. Districts may also select two if they believe they have very strong candidates, or they may select none. The same process is in place for Mr. Basketball next week. #OhioGirlsHoops

@nickstrong @CoachSwit So in essence, if you can keep as many players from playing those 10 games you always have money to recruit. I can understand that but if it cost you games its an acceptable trade off? Remember the OP is about losing and not playing other players on a fully rostered team.

@DAMONBAKER44 @CoachSwit In NAIA, the scholarship is used only when that player reaches 10 games. So I can have a pitcher on Full Scholarship and it doesnt count towards the limit of 12 if he pitches in 10 games or less. Its a long story and one many won't believe.

For all the coaches that are smarter than me. If your team (baseball) isn't playing well, and your are playing the same 10 guys every game (minus pitchers) and nothing changes. Whats the logic in not giving others an opportunity when you have a roster of 35 or more?

Agreed....a quiet man is a controlled, calculated man. And like you said....usually the most dangerous and well prepared.
Nick Strong@nickstrong

@polo_man404 I like Melvin in this situation. The quiet man in the room is the most dangerous. Melvin wasn't a Bully at all. He knew when to strike and when not to strike. Just my 2 cents

@CoachSwit @nickstrong Can you elaborate as I don't understand how scholarship limits dictate playing time, If thats the case why roster 35 if not all are on scholarship.
