@DAndersonDuval

A real Duval public school parent but not a real Doug Anderson. A supporter of Mayor Donna Deegan. It was always the Jags.

Jax school board district 2 doesn’t need another politician who talks like this. My wealthy friends who use their voucher money for new SUVs have enough support in Tallahassee. District 2 needs a SB member who makes their first visit to Anchor Academy, not Cornerstone Academy.

More than 50% of Florida K–12 students now attend some form of school choice. Traditional public schools are a great option, but it’s clear parents want educational choice.

@jenna_persons Instead, we’ll just wait for the massive state budget deficit in 27-28? 🤔

Tonight, Deegan proposed and the Council approved $12 million to “keep” Winn-Dixie. This is straight up extortion and corporate welfare. It’s not about Winn-Dixie. It’s about the cash grabs. They have to stop.

Once again, my school board rep tries to pretend her twitter actions during an active investigation aren’t her official school board actions and prevents her constituents from holding her accountable,,,@carney0134

@carney0134 @DatDuvalDude @SuccessCharters Last year ABE had to let go a kindergarten teacher because enrollment was the lowest it’s been in decades because of your inaction. The end result was 3rd grade classes with 25+ kids, well above the Florida constitutional limit and you were still nowhere to be found.

Actually, the incumbent raised six figures more than I did. And, my kiddos also attended DCPS schools, until they no longer served them effectively. I've never stopped fighting for our schools - just because I moved mine, doesn't mean I don't want them to succeed. That's school choice. 😉

I have been doing that for the last four years. Unfortunately, any time out of the box thinking or making systemic changes (like what's going on in Louisiana and Mississippi) to bring students back to our traditional public schools falls on deaf ears. If the system does not want to change to drive academic success, more parents will exercise choice. It's just a fact, and why school districts continue to have a drop in enrollment year after year.

@CatherineUSA1 @RoryDiamond A general point is Rory says a lot of things, many of those things end up not being true. He’s moving the goal posts to try to save face but the overall outcome of this exercise is a massive waste of time and money by “Duval DOGE”. Have a nice night.

@DAndersonDuval @RoryDiamond "The committee found that the city’s contract with Telescope Health, costing more than $2 million annually, does not provide a tangible financial benefit to taxpayers." Rory Diamond is saying that Telescope Health has exaggerated the savings.

@CatherineUSA1 @RoryDiamond I’m saying Rory’s waste claims don’t make any sense either. He’s out on an island on this one. There’s nothing controversial about this policy. He doesn’t have the votes on the council. If he doesn’t like it, he should run for mayor. Maybe then he’ll be accountable for his claims

@CatherineUSA1 @RoryDiamond Where’s the proof of waste or fraud? Now that the fraud claim has been disproved, where is the evidence of waste? The statement that program only saves money for the hospitals seems to show a basic lack of understanding how our healthcare system works.

@CatherineUSA1 @RoryDiamond Saved nearly 2000 taxpayers a visit to the ER & saved $10 million costs? That sounds like a win-win & a tangible financial benefit to the city & residents. Just because council members ideologically oppose the policy doesn’t make it waste or fraud. Elections matter.

The Florida teachers union has filed a lawsuit seeking to strip nearly a million students of the education of their choice. The union wants to eliminate Florida’s school choice scholarship program (serving more than 500,000 students) and charter school program (serving more than 400,000). We will stand up for the parents and students and defend these programs!

Mental health is an issue that impacts everyone in our community – including our young people. I want to thank all of the members of the Mayor's Young Leaders Advisory Council for their insight into the State of Mental Health in Jacksonville. By sharing your voices and experiences, we’ll be able to create solutions that ensure healthy lives for every young person in our city.

@DatDuvalDude @SuccessCharters I sit on a public school board that supports traditional and charter schools. Are you suggesting we shouldn't learn from what's working? If students are engaged, learning, and excelling that's something that should be duplicated, not frowned upon.

@carney0134 @Tayloh25 @SuccessCharters Because, as you surely know, the state of Florida isn’t spending enough per student to fully support public schools, charter schools, & subsidize the wealthy’s private school tuition. A lot of classes in your district are over the constitutional limit. How about focusing on that?
