Synergy spot up playtype data is wonky, but even being only 35% on C&S 3s and 25% from the corners, he’s still 75th percentile efficiency on 2.5 spot ups a game. And regardless, he shoots 37% above the break + 82% from the line. He’ll probably be fine

Many doubt whether Dailyn Swain can play off-ball in the NBA, but his ability to attack short closeouts and create advantages off the catch, even without a respected jumpshot, is an under-discussed part of the equation In his small sample of driving off spot-ups he’s 75% on 2PAs

i wonder how different the perception of dailyn swain would be if he was just correctly ranked coming out of high school. the only nike aau players since 2017 with over 50% 2P, 3 assists and 2.5 stocks per game: 1. swain 2. tyran stokes 3. jordan smith jr

A guard's ability to get up 3s enables teams to centralize their offensive decision making, it's the only way players who don't win off physicality can shoulder massive scoring usage Tanner, Flemings & Acuff may struggle to get up enough shot attempts to be an engine

Kingston Flemings attempts a 3 on just 29% of his PNR reps (29th%). His overall 3.8 3PA/40 (18th%) is why my model projects him as an average 3P shooter with the 3rd lowest 3P/100 among primary NBA handlers. His inability to get up 3s was exploited masterfully by Arizona.

@Blk_Von that's one of the most balanced and flexible players ever. His capacity to produce bend outweighs the traditional first step framework most people instinctively go to.

With guards, and small guards specifically, it's mostly all about physical tools for me... even guys like Nash or Brunson have really unique physical tools that enable their success itl

North Dakota State’s Treyson Anderson is the most fun mid-major transfer up candidate in the tournament A true moreyball play-finisher that‘s a highly efficient screener, shoots 46% on open C&S 3s, and bullies people on his way to the rim Good helpside shotblocker/rebounder too
