The worst part, trust me on this, is quitting when you realize you won't get paid anymore, then getting denied unemployment because you quit. At least laying employees off gives them a chance to collect from an account they paid into so they can plan their next step.

@MikeTanier We had a similar thing happen locally with a tech company that dissolved over a 3 day weekend. They literally went from photos with President Obama to not paying into people’s benefits or 401ks.
