Enforcing traffic laws is about making our roads safer. Our latest STEER Act enforcement includes a driver who struck a 12-year-old child in a DC crosswalk. The child's mother said it best: "Nothing is that important that it’s worth risking your life or other people’s lives."

Severe storms are possible in the District tomorrow (Monday, March 16). Forecasts show the potential for strong thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon and evening that could bring damaging winds, heavy rain, hail, and possible tornadoes. These storms may cause power outages and travel disruptions, particularly during the afternoon commute. District residents should take a few minutes tonight to prepare and make a plan for tomorrow. Stay weather aware throughout the day and be ready to adjust travel plans if storms develop. Sign up for free emergency alerts at alert.dc.gov. #dcwx

We sued @LiveNation and @Ticketmaster to end their illegal monopoly over live music. That fight is not over. DC and a bipartisan group of states refused to join DOJ's settlement. On Monday, we’ll return to court and continue fighting for fairness for artists, venues, and fans.

Today, @DCAttorneyGen Schwalb announced the dangerous driver from Maryland who hit Paisley in the crosswalk was held accountable in Court thanks to STEER Act. Plus, AG Schwalb launched another round of STEER Act cases, one of which is for a driver with 800+ speeding tickets! 🧵

💯 On Monday, a child was struck in a crosswalk in Ward 6 by a driver swerving around a car at 🚦, leaving her with broken toes & tire marks on her leg. He was simply issued a ticket, even with his 80+ speeding tickets/$18K+ in fines he owes. He shouldn’t be driving in DC. 1/2

Gone are the days when out-of-state drivers could drive recklessly in our communities while escaping consequences. We are going to court, winning judgments, securing settlements, collecting penalties, and filing new lawsuits. If you drive on DC streets, follow DC traffic laws.

After review, OAG rejected the proposed sale of the Providence campus for $1. Then, we negotiated a revised deal that includes $5 million for a new urgent care center at the site or other healthcare services. The trustees will ensure these funds advance this charitable purpose.
