Today, 15 May, has been declared a national day of mourning in Ukraine. Australia’s flag flies at half mast in honour of the victims who lost their lives after Russia’s large scale attacks. Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian cities continue today as families mourn their loved ones.

I've met with some of the worst guys on Earth - but Xi Jinping is without a doubt the coldest and most ruthless leader I've encountered. We should be under no illusions about his malign intentions toward the US or any power that challenges him on the world stage.

SIKORSKI: I hope we're not back to silly discussions we had at the beginning of the war: “Oh my God, if we give Ukraine tanks, if we give them jets, Putin will escalate.” Do you really believe there is anything Putin would not do to win? If he could escalate, he would escalate.

He’s selling out America, and anyone still clinging to this administration is betraying their own kids’ future for the sake of ego and tribal loyalty. Russia became a vassal state of China because it had no real alternatives left. Trump is choosing that path for the United States voluntarily. Congratulations.

Trump defends 500,000 Chinese students in U.S. universities, saying it would be very “insulting” to China if he barred them, adding: “If you want to see a university system die, take a half a million people out of it.” Some MAGA heads are about to explode over this

To hańba. Koniec i kropka.”

While the UN tries to avoid to point at the obvious culprit of the strike against their convoy in Kherson, Ukraine, Russians released FPV footage of that particular strike, making absolutely clear this wasn’t some kind of accident, but a deliberate terrorist strike, which civilians in Kherson have to endure on a daily base.

💊 Lavrov calling President Zelenskyy a “Führer” and Germany a supporter of Nazism is the Kremlin’s cheapest propaganda reflex. Russia bombs Ukrainian cities, kills children, abducts civilians, and then tries to cosplay as an anti-fascist power. The country committing imperial war crimes in Europe has no moral right to lecture anyone about history.

Applebaum: Putin’s real fear is a Maidan-style street revolution — people against corruption, demanding democracy and Europe. Liberal-democratic language is explosive inside Russia. That is why he needed to crush Ukraine’s democracy movement. 1/

And here’s another clip of Varoufakis going with the preposterous lie that “the Russian language was banned in Ukraine in 2014”. How hard is it to fact-check this stuff, seriously? Or just ask Ukrainians...?

I would like to hear from all Trump apologists who spent years telling me about the wisdom of throwing Ukraine under the bus in order to get Russia away from China so we can focus on China, and how throwing Taiwan under the bus is part of the same grand strategy of dealing with China.

- Anne Applebaum: "Steve Witkoff has no experience with Russia or diplomacy. I fear he imagines a US-Russia pact where he, his son, Trump's family or their circle benefit personally. It's disturbing that American foreign policy conducted not for the US, allies or world peace, but for private interests. Putin knows Trump is vulnerable to such deals ... that's why he keeps suggesting them. Witkoff and Trump's entourage behave like Russians: capture the state, use it for personal wealth."

Kremlin-linked disinformation network Matryoshka began publishing videos on Twitter claiming Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan could start a war with Russia, the Bot Blocker project reports. At least 20 fake clips appeared, including fabricated ISW reports, fake French media covers and videos using actors from The Office paid via Cameo with AI voices. Putin made similar claims comparing Armenia to Ukraine on May 9, less than a month before Armenian parliamentary elections.

If you voted for Trump because you thought he would be tough on China, you got played like a little child. He and his billionaire friends are begging Beijing for business deals. The tough talk was just a scam for your vote

President Trump on President Xi: If you went to Hollywood and looked for a leader of China to play a role in a movie. He’s Central Casting. He’s very tall—especially for this country. They tend to be a little bit shorter.
