During my internship period I developed really good connections but I also met some senior AI Engineers (3–4 years of experience) who were hired just to train ML models at AI engineer role. And for that they created a team of 17 people out of which 5 were interns. But they literally did nothing. Most of the work was done by interns (earning around 15k stipend). Like data cleaning, running models, basic stuff…all interns. The seniors just kept assigning tasks and sitting in meetings 😭
