All this fuss over a badly worded sentence in a report written by a civil servant. The King has committed no apostacy. He is a communicant Christian who attends Church more than most people. That said, he is the King of everyone (whether they like it or not) in the UK and the Realms, and must be seen to accommodate those of any faith and none.

I’ve always been pro-monarchy, despite being Catholic. But if the King can swear a sacred oath before God and then reduce it to vague interfaith mush, the whole thing starts to look ridiculous. At this point, even monarchists can see the argument for a republic.

@CF_Farrow It's not a republic we need, it is a Monarch worthy of the job.

Here in Derbyshire Dales, the population size has increased slightly (0.5%), from around 71,100 in 2011 to 71,500 in 2021. So according to Central Government those 400 people mean that 9800 houses must be built. That's more than 24 houses per person. Could it be that Labour have some other people in mind to come and live in them? Is that why Mahmood is creating a scheme to import as many of her friends as possible? I don't suppose we will see any opposition to it from @JohnWhitbyMP and as he has closed his account on here we won't hear how many he will keep at his house. It might make some people start to wake up to what this Government is doing though. @FreeNationTalk @RoyalFamily This is exactly right. It is not at his whim how the country is governed. Even a cursory glimpse at history would show how that worked out for his predecessors.

Today my support for the @RoyalFamily ends. Defender of the faith title is tied specifically to the Christian (Anglican) faith in its traditional legal and historical sense. He cannot unilaterally declare a change to this oath without a referendum. It’s a major constitutional change. He’s not a dictator he rules by consent.

On top of the king giving up, his Government plans to bring in millions more replacements to overwhelm the Native Britons. This is not happening by accident. Having written an open letter to the King calling upon him to honour his coronation oath as Defender of the Faith, the latest publication by the palace is completely unacceptable! Tomorrow, I will make my address concerning this issue…and I’m not done asking the questions in my open letter…!!

No because the whole idead would be of the slightest incentive to self deport. If they get dumped back home with nothing, then being locked up might be attractive and they may stay. Im talking about they could implement today as surely no rules would be broken if they choose to self deport.

They should be pushing for migrants to be shipped to these sites, but locked inside and put under armed guard, round up all other boat migrants and say you have two choices. Stay locked up with no freedom, or or self deport with 200 quid. Repeat till they all have gone simple really

Victory for common sense (for now, at least)… It’s a relief that @EnvAgency have finally realised that prosecuting volunteers for cleaning & restoring a river (that they had left to rot) without permission was not a good look, so they have dropped their charges in favour of a ‘warning’. Thank you for all your support & encouragement, from across the country, the political spectrum & around the world. I’m certain that the comms disaster suffered by the EA over this was crucial in getting them to begin to see sense at last. This is, however, not the end of the story. The River Roding & its tributaries, like most rivers in the UK have still been abandoned & in parts left to die by the Environment Agency, with no plans to even put a stop to the serious environmental crimes taking place (like illegal sewage dumping), let alone to begin the process of restoration that the river so desperately needs. I am therefore seeking a meeting with the EA’s Chief Executive to ask (1) that the EA instead use its prosecuting powers for good, to demand a detailed plan from Thames Water to fix all illegal sewage discharges in years, not decades & (2) that the EA turns this whole saga into a good outcome by using the River Roding as a pilot scheme for how the EA can work with, rather than against, grassroots river guardians, to provide the protection & restoration our rivers so desperately need. I hope they will accept these very reasonable requests. But if not, I will continue to defy the EA, & will not be seeking their permission or authorisation to continue to care for & restore the river I love.
