🔬 JAKing up the options for perianal fistulas in Crohn’s disease! New post hoc analysis from 3 phase 3 trials (U-EXCEL, U-EXCEED, U-ENDURE) shows promising results for upadacitinib in patients with perianal fistulizing CD: ✅ 44.7% of patients on upadacitinib 45mg QD had resolution of drainage at 12 weeks vs 5.6% placebo (p=0.003) ✅ 22.1% had closure of external openings vs 4.8% placebo (p=0.013) ✅ Sustained benefit into 52-week maintenance with both 15mg and 30mg doses ✅ No new safety signals identified 🧠 These findings offer new hope for a tough-to-treat phenotype, especially in biologic-experienced patients.
