@SprtBookReviews @byAaronFisch The Barn by Wright Thompson. Nothing to do with sports — it’s a sobering and memorable book about the lynching of Emmett Till.

This photograph, taken last week, of a four-meter-long male crocodile is elevated by the lighting conditions at dusk. Three hours before, it was all too bright and any photographs would be less dramatic. He is believed to be over 110 years old and weighs more than 750 kgs.

And we should remember the Paralympics "began" as the Stoke Mandeville Games in rural England (Aylesbury) in the late 1940s, led by a physician Ludwig Guttmann, who helped pioneer sport for disabled people.

To celebrate the #Paralympic2024 Games in Paris, one of my all time favourite cartoons from the brilliant @JimmySportToons Paralympics have come a long way since 1911 - when first organised disabled sports event was staged - & called 'the Cripples Olympiad!' #Paralympics

Griffin Dunne is really great in this. Other than Johnny Dangerously, I wonder why he didn’t act more.

For my people who both know football and like low-budget Scorsese, the lead in After Hours is named Paul Hackett.

Seems like every Olympics photographer has visited this vantage point to make a photo, but only the great David Burnett has put uniquely made it his own.
