Steam banned recentley an entire publisher and 94 games with it. They only did it 4 times in history to ban an entire publishers until today. Remember this Gif I posted in 2021? That was one of the games as well:

@MyxVcx Nope, I don't see a need. Any country is free to "protect" their citizens by blocking the site themselves.

The Arch Linux 32 project (a volunteer-maintained 32-bit fork of Arch Linux) announced it was geo-blocking Brazilian IP addresses to avoid compliance with Brazil's newly enacted ECA Digital law. This law mandates auditable age verification for digital services potentially accessible by minors, including operating systems.

@TheAdorablnyvh UX? Can be better. Censorship? We can't (not won't) directly censor. As in we can't delete accounts or control them, or properly delete posts or change them. Best we can do is mark/hide, and those moderation actions can be bypassed by users. The first mod site of its kind 🤘

@MadLadNomad That's the goal, and unlike all alternatives that are out there, or would be out there, you only make one account, no initial technical setup to start chatting (you would later to prevent a different set of issue), censorship-resistant, permissionless, etc. One click = you're in.

@DEGMods @Grummz If you guys can someone make a Discord like app that is way less bloated, many people would be super happy especially if it runs similar to your mod site where it's hard for outside influences to influence it

@TeenX_VaM As in they still censor devs even if they get paid directly? Ya most likely, tho here's the difference in what we're doing with DEGA, we don't even control ur account, or have power over it or ur posts, so we can't shut you down or stop you. Best we can do is hide u in one place.

Nexus Mods now requires age verification for adult content if you're in Brazil. It uses k-ID with a quick face scan or ID upload.

@Pirat_Nation Making a game that is fun and amazing for the creator doesn't always translate to having a successful game, and it's fine if you don't mind not having a successful game, otherwise, you must take into consideration those who judge a book by its cover.

@Grummz Good thing we can't (not won't) prevent people from having encrypted messaging on the tech we're utilizing for what we made and whatever else we'd make, in fact, we'll see if we can have a lite detecting system of sorts, if possible, to inform users of pre-encryption monitoring.

Meta is removing encrypted DMs on Instagram. They were also discovered to be funding a huge push for age-verification and related Internet ID laws in many States. This is a dark time. I think total lockdown is coming for the web, as well as total AI surveillance.

@DEGMods ngl looks like downloading is fucked up too and it gives me error and downloads this image of the bird I fucking hate... I hope other people dont have problems with downloading like me rn

@PlusProMichal Yes... that server (nostrcheck) is annoying, if you can don't upload to it when possible /uncheck it if it's there. Because of it, however, that's why we added a hashchecker to inform you that a server has messed with the mod file or media file, so you'd 'try alternative source'

@KiwiFarmsDotNet No account bans (can't happen) or suspensions, encrypted messages, and joining whatever hub/server without making a new account. Text chat to start with. That's the goal🤘

Discord is now BANNING users who are using DiscordChatExporter, a command line archival tool. Discord is owned in part by Chinese conglomerate Tencent. No messages on Discord are encrypted, even "private messages". Discord TOS permits them to use AI to read your messages.

I agree, unless and until there's decent alternatives to the likes of the current monopolistic big payment processors that want to act as moralistic-thought-police, how can content creators of 'naughty' content (artists and such) get paid? Sadly, there's not many options.

BREAKING NEWS: SubscribeStar just changed their TOS making them as restricitve as Patreon. Things that can't be on SubscribeStar now (in fictional media): -Incest -Rape -Some types of furries -Gore They added a big section about compliance with payment processors, so we know who's behind it... again...

@SuperOmegaFan ...to directly attack each creator one-by-one, and even then, the creator can simply swap to a different payment processor that they can find, or "comply" by selling what is allowed as a front for their actual products/services. (not that we say one should do this, but one can)

@SuperOmegaFan At the end of the day? Think Steam, or SubscribeStar, the site is there, but they don't handle the creators finances, the creators themselves do. Visa/MC can't pressure the platform anymore to censor creators, because they can't anymore, so they have...
