His reporting exposed the scandal, which led to the resignation of the Governor (who was also the Chancellor of state universities) and the Vice Chancellor of Bombay University. The CM resigned after the Bombay HC made strong remarks against him for fraud in the MD examinations to benefit his daughter and her friend. He showed what real journalism can do. It has real power to shake a politician and bring them down in a single day. This incident happened in 1986. Abhay Mokashi passed away on 2 May 2026.

Mamata Banerjee is now telling she will not resign. No need to resign actually. In 1-2 days - Election Commission will submit the list of new MLAs to Governor. And Governor can call the largest party (here BJP) or leader or BJP can approach Governor to claim majority and then swearing in ...Matter ends... Normally after election result is out, out going CMs will meet Governor to submit their resignation. 😎

Feeling very emotional seeing this headline. I had my Facebook account suspended 7 times because I wrote against the h0rrific gang-r@pes by TMC goons post 2021. I am not a member of any political party, but being a woman, I decided to speak against the r@pes being used as political weapons to terrorise families into submission and silence. Not only was my account on Facebook suspended 7 times, last time my account was hacked and a banned caricature image of the ex-CM Mamata Banerjee was posted on my timeline by someone inside the Meta team, and using that image my account was suspended for a whole month. After that, an ex-RSS member and a person whom I hold in high regards, Ajoy da (Ajoy Konar), told me to stop writing on the r@pes, as my Ma was then living in Kolkata, and he said they would eventually target her to silence me. So today, when I saw the newspaper headline, it suddenly occurred to me that there would be no more account suspensions, and no more targeting my family in Kolkata. I am finally free to speak against the political r@pes, which had become a culture in West Bengal, and which I now hope will stop. A huge thanks to @ECISVEEP @narendramodi and @AmitShah to see through everything, and do a regime change in WB without bloodshed 🙏

NEVER AGAIN. For those who don’t know, @MamataOfficial cancelled me in Bengal after the release of #TheKashmirFiles. The film was taken out of cinema halls, and she said I would NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER Bengal. Last year, she BANNED #TheBengalFiles completely in West Bengal. Our trailer launch was blocked. We were attacked and assaulted. Dozens of FIRs were filed against me. I was cancelled in Bengal. I couldn’t even go to receive my award from the Governor. But we never gave up. During these elections, we ensured that #TheBengalFiles was shown to as many people as possible (underground) across Bengal. I am glad we didn’t give and fought in our own little way. And finally… this unprecedented victory. Congratulations to the great people of Bengal. Now you can walk without fear, with your head held high.

Here’s a little story about @AmitShah, Bengal and me. Sometime after 2021 elections, I don’t recall what the occasion was, but there was a media meeting where Amit Shah was present. I got up and asked him about Bengal and the plight of Hindus. This was the first time I was speaking to him. I had never met him before. Before I could complete my question, he said, “I know what you went through in Bengal. Sab hoga. Main janta hu”. A similar meeting happened a couple of years later. I asked and got a similar answer. This time, I sat down and hid my face because I couldn’t control my tears. @smitaprakash was there right next to me. No words were needed and she held my hand. Today, Amit Shah delivered. He said no more. No more. “Main janta hu. Sab hoga”. That’s all. And he delivered today.
