@WarriorqueenThe @ZelenskyyUa If Putin wanted peace he could order all of his troops out of Ukraine. He'd have peace in one day. Why do you want to reward Putin's war of aggression? Trump said he'd stop the Ukraine war in 24 hrs, why do you trust anything he says?

@ZelenskyyUa What are you after now, more money or British boots on the ground? Our economy is suffering terribly, and British people are finding it hard to make ends meet as they see their taxes rising daily, directly and indirectly. Trump says Putin wants peace, what say you?

I met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, @Keir_Starmer. In Ukraine, we appreciate all the steps the United Kingdom has taken to support our people and weaken the aggressor, including efforts to counter Russia’s shadow fleet. We discussed this with Keir today. We also paid significant attention to defense support for Ukraine, in particular contributions to the PURL initiative. Ukraine is ready for the next round of negotiations in a trilateral format. The negotiation process to achieve a just and dignified peace was also among the topics of our discussion. We appreciate the United Kingdom’s position on continuing pressure on Russia. This is truly important. We separately discussed support for Ukraine’s energy sector. I briefed the Prime Minuster on the situation on the battlefield and Russia’s strikes against Ukraine. It is important for Europe to coordinate its efforts and develop a joint air defense system to protect against threats from Russia.

@drdavidbull 9 is a lie though isn't it? Local elections won't get Starmer out. Speaking of wanting people out, quite the achievement having America wanting Farage out before he's even in.

🚨There are just nine days until May 7th's crucial local elections. Here are nine reasons to vote Reform UK: 1. Reform UK-led councils have delivered the lowest average increase in council tax of any of the main parties. 💯 2. Reform UK councils have already made £325 million of savings. 👌 3. Reform UK councils have identified a further £400 million worth of savings for the next financial year. 💷 4. Reform will fix it: In Derbyshire, we inherited a pothole backlog of 17,000. We cleared it in months.👨‍🔧 5. British people first: In West Northamptonshire, we served notice on all three asylum hotels in the area. 🇬🇧 6. Net stupid zero: In County Durham, Reform UK has scrapped stupid Net Zero schemes, saving millions of pounds. ✅ 7. The Tories broke Britain: They left the country bankrupt, our borders open and public services broken.⛓️‍💥 8. This Labour government has been a disgrace. Time and again, their decisions have left people across the country worse off and feeling ignored. 😡 9. Vote Reform, get Starmer out. ⚠️

@gazwebster11 @foxmulder1969 Don't forget southern Africa. The Chinese have been expanding their investments all over the place there with mining for lithium in a massive boom. And yes, all hauled by massive diesel powered Chinese made trucks...

@DGreeenshields @foxmulder1969 Well, they didn't have much of a choice. "Investing in battery tech" is all well and good, but manufacturing them requires rare earth minerals mainly sourced from South America, China + Indonesia, your supply chain is DOA. (All hauled on gasguzzling diesel tankers ofc 🤡)

Yup. One of the deepest signs of SW1 pathology became very striking in 2020: despite the Covid disaster, MPs very clearly had lost interest in the economy and productivity. Blank stares. No interest. Changed the subject, mainly to California-originating culture wars like trans cult and BLM madness. MPs never had interest in tech. But the collapse of interest in productivity/economy is new and a sign of impending disaster

It's deeply weird that the unsustainability of our long-term fiscal position isn't a bigger part of our national conversation. We're so bad at paying attention to slow moving catastophes (cf. economic stagnation).

@gazwebster11 @foxmulder1969 @Dominic2306 The question here is really: why did the big car companies not start investing in battery tech 10 years ago when they knew these things were coming down the line? "The markets will sort it out" is a really dumb line when people's pockets are being lined right up until the crash.

@foxmulder1969 @Dominic2306 It's mental. The EU/UK are a walking personification of the law of unintended consequences. See: 1) "We will stop automobile production by 2030!"-without the means to make a car battery. Cue: German automotive industry obliterated, Chinese EV's dominating globally, EU crisis

@AmyMek We can't talk about the truth, another big problem is left wing media is destroying people's minds, all for a vote, we just watched a black person stomp a girl and the media is silent, another black boy stabbed a white guy and he got to graduate, WTH are we waiting for

@simonspudwynn @matthew_elliott The £9Bn a year might have been treasury take. or some kind of lowered costs to UK buisness, rather than actual trade value, comparing what the nation can spend against the nominal GDP assigned to trade with foreign countries doesn't give any meaning.

@simonspudwynn @matthew_elliott I think you're comparing apple with oranges. Trade with the rest of the world is perfectly possible within the EU. The trade deals we've got with many other countries are the same or demostrably worse for the UK than the ones the EU had or now has (Aus is a prime example).

Our trade will grow fastest if we attach ourselves to the fastest-growing economies. 30 years ago, Western Europe and America were at the forefront of global economic growth. The EU's share of global GDP has fallen from 21% in 2000 to around 14% today. The IMF forecasts the EU will grow by just 1.3% this year, compared to 3.3% globally. Our future trading priorities need to reflect this new reality.

Liberals are really a childish activists group not seriously politicians. And yet not a word about UK Govt sitting on over £8bn extra taxes and duties it could use to aleviate the short term upward blip in oil prices. Instead you all play this childish hate Trump game with nothing intelligent to say about Govt refusing to use its multi billion windfall and the £4BN green subsidies added to UK consumer energy bills.

@normouspenis @jaketapper Taking out specific bridges in combination with a ground assault to restrict support for existing troops for example. That would be fine. Taking out all major bridges in the country, that's not meeting a specific objective.
