In the last 30 minutes, someone from @Faysalbankltd called me over 20 times and sent me loads of messages telling me that today is the last day of paying instalment of my credit card.
I have noticed with Pakistani banks that when it comes to the payment of loan, credit card or any other borrowing, the banks employees seem to be taking it personally like the olden days (still happens though) gangs and thugs who will chase up their clients and threaten to break their legs if they don’t pay up.
@StateBank_Pak ask banks to train their staff properly.

@fayezasays It isn't the software's fault. The software (server) is designed to handle a certain number of users at any given time. We are the fault as the majority of this country decides to file taxes at the last minute, which causes the server to crash. We have almost 3 months to file.

FBR has once again proven itself the most unreliable institution. Last night I wasted hours struggling to file my return because they kept insisting till the very last minute that the deadline wouldn’t be extended, all while IRIS wasn’t even working.
And today I wake up to see an extension granted. Utter incompetence, utter shame!

@khansaheb01 @sayedzbukhari Read the first word after 796 Kanal in the first line.
English

🚨 Today, my 796 Kanal ancestral land was put to auction in Attock at 11am. The people of Attock showed immense dignity and respect by refusing to participate, not a single bid was made until the close of auction.
Yet, after the official closing, unknown men seized some people’s phones, and in the presence of NAB officials, a benami individual some Ch. Tanvir s/o Karam Din, resident of Tarnol was brought in to secretly “purchase” the land. This pre-arranged, illegal transaction failed to meet even the most basic legal requirements.
Today, 796 Kanals of mine were stolen under the guise of an auction. Tomorrow, God knows what more they will be sold, all in the name of punishing Imran Khan and those of us who refuse to betray him.
But I remain firm in faith: Allah is the best of protectors and planners. I place my trust in Him and I choose to relax and smile with my head held high.

@najam_ali The problem isn't how fast they cleared the flooded roads with machinery, the problem is why does it get to the point where you need to bring in machinery. Invest in making better roads and drainage systems so we don't need to bring in machinery.

This post sparked sharply polarised reactions on the situation during the recent rains in Karachi. Let me clarify.
There is no denying that the city faced major disruption. Many colleagues from my office couldn’t reach home till midnight on the first day. I personally witnessed stranded vehicles and flooded roads.
My point was not to downplay the hardship, rather to highlight that given Karachi’s chronic infrastructure problems built up over decades, the Sindh government did manage to restore some order, particularly on major arteries, within a reasonable timeframe.
Yes, several areas remain affected, and there's a lot of room for improvement.
But turning everything into politically charged, abusive criticism serves no purpose. Regardless of who is in power, we must hold governments accountable but through constructive, informed feedback.
Karachi’s problems need long-term commitment, not just outrage.
Najam Ali@najam_ali
Despite heavy rains yesterday and again this afternoon, most areas of Karachi remained dry. I attended several meetings across the city, traffic was light and roads largely clear. Credit to the city administration for a commendable effort. Given Karachi’s sheer size and complexity, managing such weather is no small task. I am hopeful the Sindh government recognises the city’s infrastructure challenges and will continue working to address them.

@foodpanda_pk Care to explain this? I placed an order, and my free delivery wasn't applied. I asked your agent and this is what I was told. Why are restaurants deciding who gets free delivery? What is the purpose of pandapro then? Why weren't we informed before this change?

English

@KElectricPk Power gone for the 100th time in the past 2.5 hrs. Why do expect me to pay you Rs 16k when you can't provide electricity. Let me sleep in peace. 0400005347465.

English

@KElectricPk So as I was saying. What kind of joke is this. Shut down every few minutes. Let me study and others sleep in peace.
